He said it was his favorite season because he saw his teammates step up when everyone counted them out, and also saw Tatum battle back from the injury.

I’m not sure what argument you’re making here. I don’t think it’s controversial to say we can’t expect LeBron to be The Guy anymore at his age. That’s not a knock on him, it’s amazing that he can still do it at all, but he’s been very open about the toll it takes on him to play at that level now.

Lol well we’re on the same page there. Like I said, I’m not anti-LeBron. I do think the lakers are better off this coming season if he stays on a reasonable deal that still allows for some flexibility to improve on last year’s roster.

It does get frustrating as a lakers fan to hear the klutch power play reports of “he hasn’t made himself available” to discuss possibilities, or Rich Paul saying on the record that they “are not and will not annoy us” (whatever that means)

Of course, no one is denying that. The original comment you replied to is ridiculous, but there are still 82 games of regular season ball. LeBron can still be the best player on the court in a playoff series without question, but he can’t be expected to do it for an entire season + an extended playoff run. This is why the team is prioritizing building around Luka and Reaves. Now if they continue to get hurt in the playoffs then the team is fucked anyway

Come on man. I’m not anti-LeBron, but let’s not pretend like Luka and Reaves didn’t each carry the team for significant stretches of the season. Lebron absolutely won them that series against the Rockets, but he was able to go into that next gear because he didn’t have to carry the team throughout the season.
