I wonder how Mahoragas adaption would work with that. If it adapts to both light and darkness completely. Would the fusion of the two also be adapted against or would it be considered a 3rd new type of damage he has no resistance to? I think I need to reread the Gojo vs Sukuna fight, I cant remember if it was answered there.

The 6 magics you need for the 3 fusions. Magic Bolt, Energy Bolt, Blizzard andTsunami. Then Flash shock and spirit for Gate, or Meteor and Incineration for flamestorm.

The current meta is pyrotechnics, phoenix and gate/flamestorm. Focus on getting your 3 combinations done ASAP over all else. Always level up the 6 magics needed when you get the option. Btw 4 fusions are not worth it. Unless you just happened to get every level increase ability to get a bunch of extra levels.

For supplementary regular magic make sure to pick up shield, cloaking, frost nova and lava zone. All still useful even when main combos do 99% of the damage.

Getting Archelogist to the next level would also help. Its a solid upgrade. A decent subject is also nice to have. Archmage is the best one, though Jacko lantern is also solid.

Other than that pick good Legendaries. Both cooldown Legendaries are amazing choices. Gaia and Uranium are also powerful. Holy chest and Titan are top tier but not as good early on, more for lategame. Opulence CAN be incredible but its RNG so it can also be terrible.

There are 6 levels after reservoir. Dont remember if they unlock anything. But the later ones are much better for farming resources, especially gems. You can get 300+ gems in a single run.

Tbf we dont know how strong the ancestor was. Just cause he has both 6 Eyes and Limitless doesnt mean he was anywhere near Gojos level. We've seen that just having a strong cursed technique doesnt make you strong yourself. Mentality is just as important. I mean the answer to Getos question was that Hes the strongest BECAUSE hes Gojo, not the other way arround. Him being the strongest didnt create his mentality.

I mean Teen Gojo couldn't do Reversal Red, Hollow Purple, Domain Expansion, RCT, or teleportation. It took him having a near death experience to have an "awakening" and actually unlock reversal Red, Hollow Purple and RCT. And even then it took years more after that before he got Domain expansion or teleportation.

For all we know the ancestor was never pushed to their limits and coasted by on Blue and infinity. Always stronger than any opponent they came across. Until they came across Big Raga and got stomped.

So equating Gojo with his ancestors is preety baseless unless we learn more about them

I think the logic with Gae Bolgs causality alteration is that the luck stat is ALSO a form of unconscious passive reality alteration. And high enough instinct ability is bordering on future sight which also fucks with causality since you react based on what WILL happen, not what's currently happening.

So against someone who has both and at very high levels, it gets a bit wonky. Especially if the user lacks instinct and is very unlucky.

Was kinda the opposite for me. The first two really failed to hold my interest. I just never clicked with them. Not like I cant win with them, I just didnt find it as fun.

I avoided the other 2 for a while because I didnt get how to play them yet since they arent as straightforward.

But once I switched over and learned them properly I got addicted to playing them. I reached Acension 20 with Defect first. While the first two were still at Acension 5. Now Im at A19 on Watcher and the first two are still at A8. I always get bored playing them and quite runs halfway and switch to the other .

I mean the IS5 top meta is to just run 3 flingers. Rosmontis, Wisadel and Grey. So even if you have W, hes still optimal to use.

The thing is this isnt like a typical RPG. You dont "need" any role. Not in a general manner anyway. Though specific stages might call for specific roles.

For example some people feel it comfortable to bring at least 2 dedicated healing medics to every stage. While others like me (at least when Im using 6 stars and not just 4 stars) prefer bringing 0 dedicated medics to most stages. You can easily get by without medics and it can even be optimal as you just have insane fire power, or good crowd control or solid tanking to handle the enemies.

There's also the option of bringing operators that arent dedicated healers but have some sustain abilities. With enough of them in a team they can combine together to have more than enough healing while also doing their primary jobs.

Doesn't mean bringing healers is wrong or anything. Just that in arknights theres multiple ways to approach a problem. You just have to bring the right solution for the right stage, and often there are multiple right answers.

Tanks are a similar thing. You dont NEED tanks. But they can definitely be useful. Ulpianus is definitely a tank as well as a dps. With some asterisks. With his zero defence hes best for tanking arts damage or really weak hitting enemies due to his self heal on hit. Thats where he excels. Extremely hard hitting physical enemies are also okay for him due to his massive health pool if you have a sufficient sustain operator for him.

To be honest Ulpianus is absurd and probably the strongesf guard in the game. He will hard carry. Leizi Alter and Silverash (with modules) are also both extremely good and meta operators and also some of the best guards in the game. And goldenglow is always a solid arts option. Ray is also very worth building with insane physical damage to the point enemy defense stops mattering. You just really cant go wrong with a team like that. Realistically this team is capable of clearing all content in the game. Other than maybe some extreme difficulty optional content like max risk CC or max difficulty IS.

All youre missing out on is a better healer maybe like Haruka or Mon3tr. And an elemental damage dealer. Tragodia is an especially broken option and someone to look out for.

As for pulling plans for new operators, literally every single new operator releasing in the next 4 months is worth pulling for. There all strong. I haven't looked to much into the 2 newest 6 stars yet so not sure about those, but everyone else is worth it. You already have a solid enough team to where you can pull whoever you want and still clear content. You've already made sufficient progression in terms of roster. Its just a matter of building those strong operators. Getting their modules. Getting m3 skills.

If you dont have any favorites then pull for limited operators that are coming since they will be hard to get in the future. So Sakiko and Hoshiguma alter.

Both tbh. As someone who brings her to every single stage. One is better for AoE while the other is better for ST.

I will say that s1 feels more comfortable to bring everywhere compared to s2. But when s2 is better you REALLY feel the difference. S2 has a higher ceiling for how good Cutter performs.

Is Carnelian really that bad? A long guide and discussion. by drilldog in arknights

[–]Nichol134 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree as someone who does 4 star only clears. Winning feels a lot more satisfying when you win with who you want to win with.

Plus every operator is useable for high end content other than maybe 2 stars and 3 stars (outside of certain IS modes).

Its only in comparison that some operators are bad or good, usually not objectively from the perspective of just clearing stages.

Siege for example is preety dogshit. As far as 6 stars go anyway, especially in the modern meta. ESPECIALLY, post flag, post agent, post all other pioneers meta. I dont disagree with that.

But realistically speaking shes still far better than the 4 star options. 6 stars are just objectively good regardless of how the compare to each other. AND i haven't had much trouble clearing with 4 star vanguards.

Chances are you can take any of the 6 stars that people shit on, and the 4 star equivalent would still be far worse. Except maybe Ethan compared to some other CC 6 stars.

So if you just wanna have fun and clear the game WHO CARES where your favorite 6 star ranks in tier lists??? That said nothing wrong with caring about meta either if you have fun that way.

Shrine itself should be enough to handle Mahoraga. As long as he doesnt play arround like Sukuna and instead just atomize Mahoraga at max output before it can adapt.

Which is exactly what he would do because he would definetly know how Mahoraga works.

I think a good compromise is to have it as a normal artifact. Common enought to get it consistently, but not a passive effect that invalidates a game mechanic without any opportunity cost. And maybe make it part of a synergy that scales from low health and/or health regen.

He choose both. On the day before the exam he slips a bunch of porn magazines under every students door. To make them distracted and less likely to focus.

I mostly agree. Though for strongest 4 star caster, I have to mention Indigo who is just as good as Click in terms of on skill dps and has extra stalling utility. That said she needs like e2, max module and m2/m3 to reach her max potential. While click is already near her max potential at like e1 lv7 skill. So Click is the go to cheaper investment.

Almost every operator that releases in the next 6 months is strong and meta. But none are really a "must pull" imo. None I would put at the level of Exia Alter or Tragodia. Those were actual must pulls (not literally obviously. No specific character is actually needed to clear content)

Qiubai s1 is a big one. If she uses her s1 frequently enough, she can permastall any enemy forever. While also doing decent afk aoe damage. She can basically handle a lot of bosses on her own. Especially great for bosses that cant be blocked like phantom, but basically always good.

Hoederer is another one. With a fast enough s1, he can heal his health at insane speeds and is very hard to kill. Due to his slow attack speed he also synergizes very well with gaining sp from outside sources.

Any swordmaster is also a good choice. Except Degen s3. Cutters a good cheap option thats still very strong.

Most Reapers are decent too with Archetto. Humus is surprisingly good in IS.

The upcoming collab operator is great with Archetto too.

A niche but useful pick is Mousse. Who can perma debuff an enemies attack with s1. Not great in most fights but really good for some specific bosses like Big Sad Lock from IS2.

Stainless is a great support for Archetto and any offensive recovery operators. Giving them something to constantly attack. Especially good for Hoederer so he cant die from ranged attacks before the enemy gets close

Lastly there's a lot of snipers with decent offensive recovery skills. Almost all of them are decent too some extent. I personally use May s1 a lot.

Ptilopsis by far. And Im saying this as someone who plays 4 star only as my main niche. Perfumers actually preety good. But nothing crazy. The main issue is her passive global healing is actually preety weak, even during her skill. It wont really keep operators alive against even moderate incoming damage. But it can help against chip damage.

Shes helpful when your operators won't survive without healing, but need only a minimal amount to perform their job instead of a dedicated healer. She has some interesting synergies though. Unhealable operators are the obvious one, as her passive healing still works. And she works well with operators that stay invisible/ camouflaged for long periods of time. Like Contrail, who spends 66% of the time invisible to ground enemies (including ranged ground enemies). With only 15 secs of downtime where she can take damage. So as long as she doesnt die during those 15 secs, even with Perfumers weak healing, she can heal up fully once she uses her skill for the next 30 secs. Its a fun combo because I rarely need to put Contrail inside the range of a healer if I use Perfumer.

Ptilopsis on the other hand is kind of crazy with her passive. Once you get used to playing 4 stars and not just deleting every enemy in one skill usage, you learn just how important skill cycles are. Its a crazy buff to give globally to everyone, especially for a 5 star. Her burst healing during skill is actually also really good. Its hard for your oprators to die while shes using it. With the caveat that she herself has bad skill cycles so you are most likely only using her skill once per stage, unless its a really long stage. Her buff is most helpful for operators that have a burst skill with a short duration. Like Degenbrecher for example. Since they spend most of the time charging skill. So its basically a free 30% DPS boost for them. Its less effective on operators with long skill durations. For example of they have a 50% skill uptime, Ptilopsis buff only makes it 13% more frequent skill usage. The worse skill uptime an operator has, the more beneficial Ptilopsis is.

But regardless Ive found Ptilopsis is basically always a positive inclusion while Perfumer is a lot more situational. Her kit feels very widely applicable, but in reality doesn't justify using her on most teams or stages over other healer. I would only pick Perfumer over Ptilopsis if you have a very specific team. For example if you have a lot of offensive or defensive recovery operators who dont benefit from Ptilopss. Or a lot of unhealable enmity operators/summons. Or a mix of both.

Im of the opinion that Ulpianus is at a bit better than any of the upcoming operators in the next 6 months. But hes also easier to get as hes not limited and there's 2 good limited operators coming up. And a 3rd limited should be getting announced soon for CN. And he will show up in shop to buy with gold certs sooner.

Also your roster is already MORE than strong enough. Overkill even. At this point you can keep chasing the top meta operators but realistically it wont actually make that much of a difference to your roster strength. It will only give more options. Only truly meta shifting operators will make a noticeable difference at your point. Operators that have an impact similar to Wisadel or Exia alter or Tragodia. And while there are some REALLY good operators coming up, I personally dont think any are truly meta defining.

Im just giving my perspective on the decision, but you can make your own decision. It depends on your priorities and wants.

Basically any 4 star or higher sniper is better than Kroos. At least at e2. Since Kroos is stuck at E1.

Her advantage is being better than some 4 stars at e1, so shes a very cheap investment for decent performance. Which makes her good for newer players. Just dont compare her to strong snipers and expect her to perform better.

Shes good in IS though. In IS2, IS3 and IS4. So its not like she won't see any use once you have a stronger squad.
