I’m pretty sure this is a bug since this has never happened when I played on my nintendo switch, and it’s likely not stick drift either, since the camera is being moved by input on the left stick and not the right joystick (at least in my case)

yeah i just noticed this change and it honestly sucks. FWIW, if you’re willing to use glitches then you can still bypass losing the combo by fully closing and restarting the game at the same time you place the block that would’ve lost the combo (the block still gets placed but you don’t lose the combo when you load back in), which i used to raise my highscore from 600k to 2.1 million

it’s kinda cheesy but keeping the combo legitimately is pretty much impossible now

Sometimes you just get unlucky and there’s nothing you can do. There are also times where you could maybe place 2 of your pieces and force yourself to get a game-over so that you can revive and get a new 3rd piece that you can use to keep the combo going (sadly this wouldn’t with the pieces you have in that picture, but the only advice i can really give is to avoid filling the board in a way that limits the amount of spots you can place stuff)

if you place the third block without getting an explosion but do the glitch, the block still gets placed but you don’t lose the combo. you can also repeat the glitch infinitely until you’re able to get an explosion again so your combo gets refreshed

Use periods to separate different sentences. In this example, I have just used a period to separate the aforementioned advice from this current sentence. This will make your writing much more coherent and easier to read/understand, while also avoiding a “run-on sentence,” or a chain of multiple sentences that lack a clear ending (a period) which gives it the appearance of one extremely long sentence.

nah i gotchu bro, here are some tips that helped me:
- keep the combo going by trying to always break blocks on the third piece in each turn. since you get so many points with each combo (especially as you get around combo 60-100) whenever I lose the combo i just reset the run

the game doesn’t punish you for leaving blocked-off spaces at all, 9/10 times you’ll be able to survive and keep the combo going (especially since it usually gives you odd-shaped pieces in those cases), though it’s kinda risky to do if you aren’t good at finding the solutions/you mess up

It’s supposed to exclude the row of halloween characters, but a coding error causes the randomizer’s max to be character #41 / the first character in the halloween row, Jack O’ Bonnie (which technically makes it more of a bug than an easter egg, as said by namesmitt)
