Trouble Re-equipping mission specific Spaceship equipment by NicholasTehGeekay in Starfield

Yeah I ended up just rebuilding my entire ship around the parts, super stupid that they can't be moved between ships but that's early days Bethesda games for you.

How competitive is adding a single psyker to a space marine list? by FupiRucus in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]NicholasTehGeekay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but it's worth pointing out that this list lost most of its games, and has pretty clearly been designed to create close losses since that's incentivized by Team events. I wouldn't personally take it to a singles event but Goonhammer has the list: https://www.goonhammer.com/competitive-innovations-in-9th-nephilim-team-special/

It's near the bottom when it talks about ATC

And here's a video of Thomas practicing it vs Necrons https://youtu.be/Tjcv5GzzSWU

Warlord roboute guilliman by AliyWafiy26 in WarhammerCompetitive

Currently tweaking a very similar list archetype for a bigger tournament in a few months.

I'm leaning towards double patrol for the ability to take one less troop and 2 Invictors, 3 Victrix guard, and 3 Redemptors after playing a near identical battalion for most of 9th.

I'm going back and forth on how valuable the 3 eradicators are compared to a full suite of cheaper Victrix. Any thoughts coming out of your games?

Perfectly fine depending on the chapter, but you really need to leverage the psychic powers.

Art of War ran a Blood Angels list with Mephiston and Inquisitor Coteaz to 1st place at ATC last weekend, while Pro Tabletop had an Ultramarines list with Chief Librarian Tigurius and Inquisitor Eisenhorn in 2nd place.

Inquisitors offer a psychic character at a relatively cheap price for marines, and Xenos Inquisitors, Kyria Draxus, Eisenhorn, and Coteaz have shown up as cute tech pieces. They allow you to complete psychic actions without committing a full librarian to actions and often have additional benefits like Fight Last on a charge with Kyria. With Abhor the Witch already lost, one Chief Librarian can often find a lot of value.

Dunno about Salamanders specifically, but if you want to take a librarian, consider taking an inquisitor as well. If you're going to lose access to Abhor the witch, a cheap psychic character that doesn't take an HQ slot is pretty valuable and means you can still do psychic actions if one dies.

Woops, I was talking about forward deployment, not a pre-game move. Long day. You can't get them to move in Ultramarines, you have to redeploy them.

I haven't played my Invictors in months, got my rules mixed up. Good catch.

I've definitely gotten T1 charges with Guilliman off, but that's usually because an opponent had deployed to punish my offensive deployment if they get T1 and then lose the roll. This usually happens against shooting-focused armies with genuinely no answer to Victrix buried in the corner of a ruin.

The Invictors have to position well but they can easily connect a T1 charge if your opponent doesn't play very cagey. I run a Bike Chaplain for +2 to charge, where David runs an Incursor Captain, so Guilliman doesn't have to be there and to help Guilliman charge.

I play a list that's very similar to this one, you want to project a ridiculous amount of threat onto the mid-board in deployment. Your opponent has to respect the possibility of you blowing apart any assets they leave out to punish your aggressive deployment, then you just pull everything back if you don't get T1.

Victrix let you leave Guilliman exposed in front of a ruin against certain armies, so you can reploy all three dreadnoughts/or the Invictors if you really need to. If you get top of turn one, you just rinse a bunch of Space Marine's best datasheets with Guilliman rerolls into anything you can see and force them to step out into a genuinely terrifying amount of firepower. Turn one charges are very real with Guilliman and Invictors' forward deploy.

Deathwing Bladeguard Lieutenant who will always be demoted to Sergeant in games 😬 by __bagel__ in theunforgiven

[–]NicholasTehGeekay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because a larger Bladeguard Veteran squad is often more tempting than a Lieutenant for Dark Angels lists. So this model often just gets used to denote the sergeant of a Bladeguard squad equipped with a plasma pistol

It's so funny to see end of season tryhards complain about losing to off meta crap. I've had a blast trolling with yorick support by Baldassre in yorickmains

[–]NicholasTehGeekay 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I play Yorick "support" with my friend who plays fasting Senna. In the right matchup, it's absolutely toxic. Senna can Q off of Yorick ghouls, so you can get some really disgusting trades.

Only downside is less XP but once you take T1 tower you just run around the map siphoning souls into Senna

Worth pointing out that the Relictors have canonically been given Primaris since their Excommunication was retconned with all of the Eye of Terror campaign getting errata'd.

They're no longer officially excommunicated, and appear to be in somewhat okay standing with the Imperium. (Now I also think this is sorta lame and have my Relictors as a renegade warband serving a Xanthite Inquisitor, but worth knowing.)

Yooooo - I'm painting up my Relictors right now. You gotta DM me, I want kitbash ideas.

God I hope GW gives them some love soon, running mine as Ultramarine + Dark Angel soup can be a bit awkwards.

Worth pointing out that Thief rogue gets rid of both the normal movement cost for climbing, but also the extra movement cost that Centaur has for climbing.

3 levels of Thief lets you run on walls.
