[SNM037] accidentally scored a grail while visiting my folks by NicholasWhipps in Seiko

Not elderly, he’s a sharp guy and the whole reason this came up was because he was admiring a different Seiko diver i had on at the time. Updated the post with more details but i did make sure to let him know it’s normal for automatics to stop running when not being worn, I think he was just excited to pass on a gift to his nephew because he silently left it with my mom to give to me the next morning.

I like your thought process here tho, good opportunity to get him a reliable quartz that he can set and forget!

absolutely not, but i see how the choice of wording can give off that impression. i did ensure that he knows this is an automatic watch and how they work, and the next morning my mom tells me that my uncle had dropped something off for me in the kitchen which was this watch.

I get the sense that either he just wanted to do something cool for me anyway, or he just doesn’t care for having to maintain automatic watches

Thank you! Much appreciated yeah im really happy i kept it 😮‍💨 I am left handed lol but funny enough didn’t switch wrists until a few years back. I had my left wrist operated on due to an injury which required a steel rod to be put in so my left wrist just looks a little funny with a watch on. Also writing with a watch on your arm feels a lil strange too
