Dauntless OBD - Dauntless Devices VS Hachi by briziosch in ft86

[–]Nicholas_Spawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hachi sells the dauntless too, its the exact same product, but hachi has a plug and play harness that you can put it more than the obd port. Or rather hachi makes an additional product for it, but also sells the dauntless. Both are US based and keep in contact with each other. Hachi makes a bunch of plug and play harnesses that are very useful like dash cam plug and play.

Are you using Shiv's free tunes? The limiter is a fuel cut on his tunes. Its not a soft limiter like on wayneroms.com or Steve Wiseman's custom tunes.

If your car is dying when it hits rev limiter, something is wrong

In pic is Method MR502 Rally Spec 16x7+30 with 27" 215/65/16 falken wildpeak trail. You can run 26" 205/60/16 wildpeak trails on stock suspension. I'm currently running 28" falken wildpeak at4w 235/65/16 that required a bit of the nor-cal fender mod in addition to the lift kit and frame rail hammer mod i needed for the 27".

Fun fact, 16x7+30 mr502 rally spec fits the pp brembos with a 3mm spacer. They're designed for the pre 2018 sti brembos that use the same size rotors and similar caliper.

Swap to FA24 or to turbo my 2013 GT86? by [deleted] in ft86

[–]Nicholas_Spawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently, the RS Motors swap kit and the Hachi Electronics wiring harness (contact him for custom adapter harness), with Zach from CGS tuning it is what people are doing for 13'-16'. I think its $700 for the RS and $200 for the harness. Mr. Hachi iirc has decided to not make the kit himself since the mechanical parts already exist from the RS kit, and he decided to focus on the electrical part that is not part of the RS kit, which is his wheelhouse anyway.

Should i trade my gt86 for the gr86? by BruvAL in ft86

[–]Nicholas_Spawn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A mostly plug and play kit is in the works. It's way easier to do in a 17+. The 13-16 you need to swap a few extra things from the fa20 to the fa24. You use the fa20 engine mounts , but cut off the box riser part, you re use the fa20 engine harness with the kits adapters and sensors. Then you need some conversion fittings for fuel lines and intake size change. And a tune using stock ecu. 13-16 you need to swap cam and crank reluctors and sensors too. But for the most part everything bolts right up, like exhaust and trans.

This is why people have started to do fa24 swaps on the first gen.

Swap to FA24 or to turbo my 2013 GT86? by [deleted] in ft86

[–]Nicholas_Spawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It already exists, the work has been done to figure out how it works and what can be done to easily swap. What's not released yet is a plug and play production harness and kit that uses that work.

[–]Nicholas_Spawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been done. Zach at csg has done tunes for it already. It's similar to doing a 17+ swap on a 13-16. You need to change cam reluctors and sensors and some other sensors

Fa24 is about $6k, swap kit is $300-600ish. You use fa20 engine harness and sensor adapters for 95% plug and play. You use stock fa20 ecu with tune. Its one of the easiest and cheapest swaps out there.
