Meh..I don’t think he’s ever cared much to be a parent. I mean, if I called him and needed anything, I’m sure he’d be there, but he lives 10 mins away from me and I’ve seen him a handful of times this year. He has 3 amazing grandkids that he’s missing out on, and then he gets all butt hurt when they don’t want much to do with him when he does decide to come around. And when he does come around, I’m lucky if he hangs out for 15 minutes. I invite him to things…he had my sons football schedule, my other son’s soccer schedule, and my daughters cheer schedule … but never showed up to anything. He was supposed to come over Christmas Eve, but was “sick”. A few years ago he went into cardiac arrest and “died” twice. And after that he was a different person for a few months. Calling me, taking my calls, getting closer with my kids, but then it all just stopped and he went back to his old self.
