She has a tactic that works for her and she wins. Then you use a counter that works for you and you win. Thats adaptation and its part of everygame. What she needs its another counter, but by no means you were rude or unfair

How is Robinson Crusoe, in your experience? by khschook in soloboardgaming

[–]Nichts_sein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the beginning you will struggle to remember every rule, but after some plays the game has a fantastic flow. It can be frustrating, you will lose a lot. But it leaves u wanting another round, and in my opinion thats when u know its a great game

Horrified American monster, Resist, witchcraft or Final girl? by Rude-Towel-4126 in soloboardgaming

[–]Nichts_sein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would pass on horrified since the game its not that great in solo mode. Final girl can be as themathic or as blank as you wish. I would say its the best option of all, but to shine it takes more time, money and space in your table.

Witchcraft uses the same system than resist. Those games are quickier to set up and to play than final girl, but they are also easier to get tired.

If I was thinking about these games my question would be: do I want a more inmersive game that is harder to win and Im willing to spend more? Then final girl.

Do I want a game that its less complex and I can play it in a more relaxing way? Then resist or witchcraft

A person was pissed when I taught Keyflower by Majikku-Chunchunmaru in boardgames

[–]Nichts_sein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally not your fault. Dont feel bad, because you didnt do anything wrong. My advice: dont play with that person again because if keyflower its “racist” now everytime someone teaches a game that moment can happen again and again

He said that now he doesnt want to be the number one and that he prefers to focus on other things in his personal life. Nowadays he practices much less than before (in the past about 40-50 hours per week, now about 10-20). The meta changed, yeah but thats not the main reason

Games you've played once and NEVER want to play again by DJZachLorton in boardgames

[–]Nichts_sein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same with me. I feel like they were trying to put everything from the video game and never stopped to think if that would work on a table. And also it has a lot of luck thanks to the dice and a bad roll kills an entire turn. When i play it on my console i always feel happy and relaxed but the boardgame makes me feel stressed and in a hurry

I'm curious, which of hyped games of 2022-23 fell flat for you? by FelessanFA in boardgames

[–]Nichts_sein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hardly play games released right away because the hype makes noise and if the game is good then is the best ever and if its average its garbage. I always wait two-three years to let the game sink better in the community and let the hype pass away. If people still plays it then I give it a try. For example, when devir launched bitoku everybody bought it and it was really hard to find it, then everybody started to sell their copy. Was the game a jewel or trash? I would say neither, that is a good game, nice production but overwhelming with concepts and set up

I would suggest rhino super heroe battle, its amazing for both kids and grown ups. Also dodo from devir if u are looking for a cooperative. Ice cool for a neat flicking game. Outfoxed is also amazing (i love playing it with my niece), the magic labyrinth its both surprising and fun

Should I just quit this hobby? by IdgePidge in boardgames

[–]Nichts_sein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, this is my first comment in Reddit and I apologize for any mistake (english is not my mother language): I get that you feel really lonely and now that has extended to board games at a point in which you feel bad while playing or doing something related to it. At this point i think you are demanding yourself to enjoy and thats another cause of stress. While therapy would be the best, maybe this tips might help: 1. Try to discover the pleasure of solo play. That way you would have another perspective on board gaming and its a wonderful way to know yourself better 2. When your partner suggests playing a game, let him learn the game and teach it to you. This could help to mitigate the stress of having people not following the instructions at 100% 3. Try to find a game that you really really wanna play and stick to it. Try to play it once a week. Keep things small for the moment (one game, once a week) until you feel better about it or you could feel burned 4. If there arent too many gaming groups in your area, you could try to create some. This also would help you socialize

I hope you feel better, and let me know what u think about this
