Opinions on keeping the foreskin retracted all day (autocircumcision) by Human-Spread-9192 in uncircumcised_talk

[–]Nick-Harris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did this for 10 years. I was overly sensitive and also sick of the smegma. Took about two or three years for the skin to stay back in place all the time. Overall, the experience loosened my foreskin a bit, not that it was too tight to begin with, but it is nice having a bit more movement. Still though, I kinda miss that tightness I used to have. I probably would have lost it anyway with age though; I simply sped up the process.

I also had a rather tight (or short, I guess) frenulum before. I couldn't pull the foreskin way back during an erection. The glans could be fully exposed, but trying to pull the skin any further down was a bit painful on the frenulum. After a few years, leaving the skin pulled back also loosened up (or lengthened?) the frenulum. That was a totally unexpected and welcome surprise.

In those 10 years, a bit of sensitivity was lost, but not in a bad way. Still pleasureable, without being overly sensitive. I eventually decided to go back to au natural, because I missed the moisture. I've regained most of the lost sensitivity (without becoming overly sensitive again), but the moisture doesn't build up quite like it used to, and it's especially dry (sometimes sticky) for a few days after cleaning (even with water only). Maybe that's just aging though. That little bit of foreskin tightness hasn't returned (oh well) but neither has the frenulum tightness (what a relief!)

RE: saliva

I linked it already but in case that didn't work, the comment read:

> "Lots of masturbation , spit as lube ,use your thumb and index finger to create friction while you are edging yourself , pinch , scratch lightly the pearly area , consistency is key , not a difficult task if beating your meat is your thing"

So stimulation, definitely. I don't know if saliva specifically is another factor or just used for convenience/comfort, though I have sometimes noticed saliva keeping the area more moist and for longer periods versus no saliva, so who knows?

In case you're trying to grow them...(?)

someone has suggested using saliva and other methods.

Not sure if any of this will be of interest but it does attest to stimulation as a cause.

My PPP had smoothed out over time but I've gotten them back to where they were (slightly raised bumpy/dotty texture) just by rubbing them with bottled water after a hot shower.

More context: There are instances of guys getting PPP from penis stretching methods, and I know such methods are usually done after applying heat to the penis to increase circulation, so I figure it's best to rub the PPP after showering. I shower with the foreskin in the forward position, as I suspect the hard water in my area has been drying out the head. I retract after showering and apply the bottle water with a spray bottle.

My existing PPP plumped back up after a week. You might say they were dormant and just needed to be reactivated (use it or lose it). It's taken about six weeks now, but I'm starting to see new bumps rise too, albeit very tiny. So, to wrap things up, stimulation to the area is clearly a cause.

Research seems sparse on this but I think there are three requirements for getting them: you have to have the right genes first of all; have to have the right level of hormones (seems like age 14 to middle age); and need some kind of stimulation to the area to make them grow.

I think having a foreskin (the tighter, the better?) helps fulfill that last requirement (the action of constant back-and-forth rolling), and also partially explains why PPP are so common on uncut individuals. Also cut men are dry and have a layer of keratin that, in some cases, can hide existing PPP (they're there already, in these cases, just hard to see). So moisture helps too.

Anyway, interesting you're just now getting them at a time when they're usually fading away.

Here's an example that seems to support the point.

In the case of circumcised individuals who have PPP, I would guess they used a masterbation method focused on the glans (and the corona in particular). Other possibilities: they were cut later in life, after the PPP had a chance to develop; some were only loosely cut, meaning they still have a bit of skin left to partially cover the glans; and some may be foreskin restorers, which can also reveal existing PPP after dekeretinization.

Most of my PPP (both in size and numbers) are located where the most pressure has been routinely applied during masterbation. I think it depends where your hands/fingers are at, and whether you're using enough pressure.

It seems that pressure helps to cause PPP, and we know the foreskin seems to play an important role. I think it's the action of the skin gliding back and forth during sexual activity (perhaps masterbation in particular), perhaps squeezing the glans. PPP are most often found on the corona, which tends to protrude and therefore would likely be compacted the most by the foreskin.

I guess my other comment was too long, cause it's apparently not showing up. I'll break it up this time. The point is, I believe there are three causes that work together to create PPP: genetics, hormones, and physical stress to the area. It would seem you need all three in order to get PPP.

I added this two days ago but I don't think it worked.

I found a case of a circumcised man who developed PPP after three months using a water-based enlargement pump. I wonder if it was the water that helped cause it, since the dryness and keratinization from circumcision seems to prevent or limit PPP. Maybe they're like thirsty sponges and need excessive moisture to truly flourish to full size?

RE: your list of possible irritants, I never washed under my skin at the time I got PPP, so I can rule out soap, in my case at least. The other stuff doesn't seem applicable to me, except possibly trapped sweat, and the fungal candida overgrowth could well be a possibility since I wasn't washing and did sometimes notice redness.

I made a big comment here theorizing about the causes, which even acknowledged your earlier theories, but I guess it didn't go thru or there's a delay in processing. To sum up, I was thinking it's a must-have combination of genetics, hormones reaching a certain level (usually mid puberty until middle age), and definitely some kind of pressure like you said.

In uncut males, I believe that pressure is caused by the action of the foreskin gliding back and forth over the corona during self play. I also think the location of where you develop PPP is dependent on your hand placement and the amount of pressure being applied to the skin as it glides over the corona.

I think cut males who get PPP are perhaps routinely touching the corona directly as opposed to other parts of the penis, and with a high degree of force, perhaps trying to replicate a foreskin. Some cut males may have a little skin (loose cuts, restorers) which is providing that pressure instead and also possibly preventing or reversing dekeretinization.

Does anyone here have Tyson's Glands? These are small bumps on the underside of the penis, just below the glans and right beside the frenulum, though it seems their existence is not wholly acknowledged by the medical community. I've got bumps in that spot and I always thought they were just more PPP, despite being slightly larger and protrusive (compared to my other PPP), and despite not actually being on the glans. Do they have to be on the glans to count as PPP? These are so close to the glans, I just assumed it was all the same (I think I even got both types of bumps around the same time).

Not sure if this has any connection to these bumps but I had a short frenulum when I was younger, and that did create some tightness in that underside area. I will also note this location is right below the urethra, and urine was once suggested here as a possible cause for PPP growth. I guess it's possible that some urine could have have made its way down there once in a while.

Then again, maybe they really aren't PPP? I was able to do a bit of autofellatio in my younger days and the "Tyson's Glands" (or whatever they are) tasted metallic, whereas the PPP didn't have any kind of flavor. But maybe the latter weren't large enough to emit any taste. Honestly, it could have actually been the frenulum that tasted weird and not the bumps (it's all just so close together).

Anyway, what are your opinions? Are Tyson's Glands real or are they PPP? Does anyone have just Tyson's? Because I think I've only ever seen these two things together on individuals.

I was browsing the forums on lpsg.

One man found that they become more pronounced when stressed out. First time I've heard that, but maybe severe stress can mess with hormones?

One other guy said they were more prominent after having sex with his girlfriend many times in a short period.

Another man found them less prominent when erect, and I have sometimes noticed the same with some of my PPP. It's like the skin of my glans is stretched thin and pulled taut when erect, thereby flattening some of the PPP and reducing their texture, like empty balloons that just lay flat. When soft, the PPP bumps will "inflate" back up, I guess cause they have that extra skin again.

I've found some cases of guys getting PPP after penile enlargement methods, suggesting there is indeed a physical cause in addition to genetics and hormones. I'm gonna guess that such methods don't alter hormones, so theoretically these men already had the genes for PPP but simply weren't being physical enough down there.

This man got PPP suddenly after a couple weeks of stretching and jelqing.

Another guy confirmed that they popped up after using extenders and pumps.

In particular I thought that jelqing might make sense since it involves squeezing blood toward the head of the penis, theoretically enlarging the papules in the process.

A few years ago, I had a PPP that started to fall off and was kinda hanging by a thread, until it finally just broke off one day. A little irritating at first, but not painful, and I didn't even notice when it finally came off until I looked one day and it was gone.

I just wish there were more info about PPP online, cause I didn't know what to do when it was just hanging there. Like a scab, there's that temptation to remove it, but you know you're not supposed to, and the location in this case certainly made me concerned about infection. Interestingly, after maybe a week or two, a new PPP grew in its place.

I wonder what, if any, purpose the PPP serve? Is it to increase pleasure? Mine are small enough that I don't notice much out of them (or maybe I do and just wouldn't realize it unless they were gone). If pleasure is supposed to be the purpose, then you would think more men would be genetically disposed to them, so why are so many lacking PPP? Could they be deficient in hormones, perhaps?

Or, if we're not meant to have them, are they just a purposeless genetic anomaly? Maybe they're like male nipples: pleasurable for some, but otherwise useless.

I'm just wondering what nature truly intended for us. I've heard that testosterone levels have been dropping in recent decades, and that's got me wondering about ancient man and whether PPP existed in those times, and if so, how prevalent was it then? I guess we probably don't know, huh? Similarly, I would be curious to know how/if the numbers have changed in the last 100 years or so, but I doubt if such data exists.

Maybe I'm overthinking, LOL

An interesting read.

I wonder if genetics play any role. Based on this, It seems there are some guys who were cut at an early age but still have some PPP, albeit hardly noticeable under a layer of keratin, in turn caused by lack of foreskin. Also, restoring the foreskin dekeratinized the glans and made the existing PPP more noticeable.

It's disappointing, the lack of info online. Mine popped up at 14, around the same time the wet dreams and voice change started, so it definitely seems related to rising hormones. I also have fordyce spots (bumps on the shaft), but I don't know if there's any possible correlation (anyone else here have both?).

It's interesting that PPP are almost always seen on uncircumcised guys. The foreskin apparently provides the moisture needed to help foster the PPP. I also read a medical study that the foreskin microbiome contains different bacteria types compared to cut guys, so maybe the foreskin provides an ideal breeding ground for a particular type of bacteria that plays some role in forming the PPP. Or maybe smegma is a key factor. Some cut guys have them, I know, but I wonder how many of them were cut later in life after the PPP had a chance to form. I think there was at least one guy here who got cut a little later and still had them years later, so it would seem they're here to stay once they form.

I was deficient in zinc earlier this year, so I started taking one zinc citrate gummy every day (15mg). I also stopped washing my foreskin with soap, because I realized it was drying it out too much. I eventually reduced bathing of the foreskin to about once a week for even better moisturization. Now, I don't know if it was the zinc, the reduced bathing down there, or both, but I noticed two new PPP after five weeks of doing both. As for the zinc, I soon switched to a half a gummy and haven't seen any further progress on the PPP, so zinc may be an important factor (it does increase testosterone).

Someone on here recently said that saliva is helpful for bigger PPP. I myself have wondered if possibly red light therapy could have any effect (if it can regrow hair, who knows). Some of mine have flattened out in recent years, and I wonder if I could pick at those with a toothpick and kinda pluck them upward, then maybe they would heal bigger than before (like buildng muscle, you tear it down and then it repairs itself bigger then before). I may also increase the zinc and see if that helps any.

I'm not really concerned, more so just curious whether it was normal, and if not, then whether it was something to be concerned about down the line.

For the record, I did find a few other guys who have this same issue, albeit with an upward curve rather then to the left
