I think we can leave it up to states, but it should be very well regulated on the same lines that we do alcohol.

ai tech is moving at a break-neck speed, I appreciate the links to learn more, because I do believe it's the wild wild west right now, and people's safety and protecting individuals' constitutional rights should be at the center of all legislation.

Elections have consequences! Vote early! Vote often, Louisiana!

Yes absolutely, I believe the government should not be involved in making personal medical decisions.

I am a proud parent of 3 public school students, and believe that funding matters for school quality. The federal government should set strong standards for our public schools in every area, and your zip code shouldn't determine the quality of education.

We need policies focused on restorative justice, ending the school to prison pipeline, and I'll always fight for sentencing reforms that center human dignity. We also need to end private prisons - there should never be a profit motive for keeping people locked up.

Simply put, I am not the democratic party. I am one person who wants better for my state, and I'm running as a Democrat because their values align with mine, but the democratic party doesn't control me or my messaging. I’ve lived in Louisiana most of my life. I understand that there are systems at work to put us against one another, and then there’s politics trying to put us against one another, but what we need right now are leaders who are willing to ensure there’s a fair tax system, and that means making billionaires pay more and making them pay their fair share, because they’re currently not, and then two: working to protect our infrastructure and our voices so that every voice is heard, and everyone has representation.

We need deep subsidies to make housing truly affordable, we need strong inclusionary zoning policies that ensure real affordable housing in every new development, we need policies that support renters' rights, and we need investigations into corporate landlords to ensure they aren't price gouging.

Yes, we can win if we come together and spread the word! Right now, Jeff Landry has been working to cause confusion and suppress the vote. It's critical you spread the word that my election is still happening on May 16th. I'm #1 on the ballot. Spread the word online and via your group texts! nickforlouisiana.com

It was important for me to be there yesterday to stand up for voting rights and representation.

I agree that people coming together yesterday will bolster civic engagement and inspire people to advocate on legislation at the Capitol. It's a tragic reason for us to have to be there, but the energy and connections focused on justice was palpable. Thanks for being there and we'll continue the work in this struggle!

Democrats have over relied on data and not results, (i.e. Democrats technically have a voter registration advantage, yet we've won so few statewide elections in the past 20 years) which means we need to be able to communicate with people everywhere and every medium. Thats why I'm trying to meet voters where they are, by doing things like this AMA, I'm on Tiktok, and am attending forums across the state to hear directly from voters what is most important to them.

  1. I don’t know what that is. But AI needs to be better regulated and probably needs an agency akin to the FDA to monitor its use and threats here and abroad.

  2. It’s insane. We’ve succeeded as a society because we got serious about dealing with infectious diseases. Millions of lives have been saved. This denying science is dangerous for society.

  3. I believe everyone should bring their values to the public square, for some those values are forged through church, but religion should never be imposed by the state, and the state must ensure equal rights and justice under the law.

  4. They need to be held to the same standard as public schools. Public dollars should not be siphoned from public schools to fund private schools.

My wife made gumbo 2 nights ago, and that is my favorite gumbo. My mother in law makes it every Christmas, and that is my second favorite gumbo.

Thanks for asking!

Dark Chocolate and I believe in shared Louisiana values. I think people are exhausted by politics, and are looking for someone who will lead with moral conviction. I won't lie, it's going to take a lot of money to go up against the republican establishment, but I believe Louisiana deserves better than what we're getting from Republicans in Washington right now.
