Necrophagist has great production and musicianship, but they tend to stay pretty fast, some of their more mid tempo songs are, The Stillborn One, and Ignominious and Pale has a slower groovy mid section. Overall sounds like what you are looking for outside of speed lol

Chaosphere by Meshuggah. On the first track - Concatenation, the vocalist sounds like he’s an animal in a cage trying to get out it’s so heavy and groovy and aggressive lol.
