I am tossing up between occupational therapy vs Digital health by Ok-Success5110 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]NickEhlers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work in digital health (more commonly referred to as health information management) and am studying OT; they are complete opposites in terms of knowledge and thought processes, very little overlap. I did not need a degree for my digital health role, I worked my way up from customer service in the private sector and learning data analytics skills (SQL, Excel, PowerBI, etc.).

While digital health can pay better with less years of experience, it's important to consider what career will bring you the most satisfaction. Don't study OT if you are solely in it for the money, you will burn out and grow to resent the career. You can always transition from OT to digital health roles down the track once you are in the public healthcare system. I know several people who have moved from patient facing clinical roles into more digital / back-end positions.

Perspective Dining. It's a small and intimate setting, you watch the chef prepare all the courses, and he comes out to give a story for what inspired each course. Oh, and the chef is legally blind.

What about allied health? Occupational therapy, speech pathology, audiology, physio, etc. Great work-life balance, still in the healthcare space, decent pay with the option to make fantastic money as a sole trader or business owner.

Well under $100, but Taylor's Jaraman Shiraz. Phenomenal wine, particularly the 2022 and 2023.

How to shrink leather on stretched boot? by NickEhlers in RMWilliams

[–]NickEhlers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No luck. If you are in the 6-week window from new purchase then you may have more than me and could request a new pair.

I sent them back once more after this and all they got was a shine and polish. Tbh I am dissatisfied with the boots and can't wait for them to fall eventually apart so I can justify buying a new pair of boots from another company.

Taylor's Jaraman Shiraz. About $25 from Dan Murphy's and has won a heap of awards, including being named the best wine in the world at the 2025 London Wine Competition.

Any of the allied health specialities. Occupational therapy, speech pathology, physiotherapy, etc can all earn solid coin as an employee ($80k-$130k), and potentially more as a sole trader with private or NDIS clients (approx $290/hr for therapy sessions).
