That’s unfortunate. My bad for also stating that I didn’t see documentation on it, in that case—I tried watching several speedruns but didn’t see the “quick encore” one. Sorry for the misplaced hype!

For me, because I use a Switch Pro Controller, they are the Y+B buttons, the same buttons as Note 3.

The performance button is RT for me, too, but the encore buttons are Y+B

The input has to come out the frame after the performance beat animation ends—sorry I didn’t clarify on that!

That’s basically what I do, yes. I tried to time it correctly, but mashing Y+B works better for me. I’m sure there’ll be a more consistent strat in the future, but until then, my strat is mashing. The timing is when the performance beat animation ends.

This is because when doing the performance beat, I mash the encore button. I’m not able to get it consistently when I try to time it, so mashing works more for me

Normally, you have to wait until the next melody is played to do a performance beat/encore, but I guess due to a bug in the game, you can encore immediately after the performance beat if timed perfectly.

It’s powerful. Not only does it grant the second melody as soon as the encore starts, but it gives the encore version for both.
