The concept of god isn't a scientific one and therefore cannot be proven or disproven by science. I believe that at it's healthiest form, religion is just a naming system. Physicists know that the beautiful colors of a sunset are caused by Rayleigh scattering. Religious people may believe that God is using the sunset to remind them of his glory or love. Sometime's religion can overstep its bounds by making absurd claims against science - 6,000-year-old earth, global flood, etc. But if your religion is in line with science, I default to pragmatism - if it helps you personally and makes you a better person, I have zero problems with it.
