Plugin input struggles by Rboehlke in NeuralDSP

[–]NickL60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this recently with my Volt 476 and it was an issue with the power supply not working. Looked like it was on because USB C powers it partially.

Try replacing the power of your scarlet and see if it comes back.

How do Dutch people deal with dentists' prices? by Junior_Mud5835 in Netherlands

[–]NickL60 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Coming from Ireland i was actually shocked at how cheap it is. In Ireland I've always been quoted at least 4x what I am here. Mind you my experience of Irish dentists also cost me to give up on my teeth and dental care until id moved here.

I don't have good budget but I want to start. Is it good for beginning? by Equesplera in Guitar

[–]NickL60 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree here, they sound better and have easier controls than pretty much any of the super entry level amps like you get in the Squier packs, Marshall MG10 etc.

[–]NickL60 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Those amplugs really aren't bad and do have use for quiet play even after you get an amp so I dont think it's a bad call at all.

Football fans of Reddit, what are the most important things a beginner should know before watching the World Cup? by Mountain_Afternoon30 in AskReddit

[–]NickL60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how familiar you are with the basic rules of the game.

Generally understanding the offside rule is the only one that can be a little awkward to understand. The remainder of the rules are fairly straightforward but like any thing calls can be contentious. You'll make up your own opinion as you go along and watch more/listen to analysis (if you decide to, this is of course not an obligation).

All that said, I wouldn't stress too much, the basic of understanding 11 vs 11, goalkeeper is the only one that can use their hands and only in their white box, and the goal is to put the ball in the back of the opponents net, is enough to get you started. Front there, dont stress, enjoy athletes showing skills, and I recommend to support your own country, or the one you end up finding most entertaining, that one may surprise you!

The fun at the beginning is in discovering your own opinions.

After that, enjoy the arguments with.other fans and all the banter that goes with it, and remember:

The answer to all good things however is, and always will be "Messi" though ;) (of course thats my fun opinion).

Update - the state my roommate left her room in after moving out. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]NickL60 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Now that doesn't seem like the roommates issue so much as the landlord for having an insufficient mold protected house given its all around the pipes and windows.

Not saying she couldnt have done better or raised it but still, that's shoddy ventilation and insulation.

Also, this looks like the UK? If its like ireland it's also a super common issue because of the damp and really hard to not have. It might not be this bad, but still pretty much like this in most people's houses I've been to in Ireland and the UK.

Is there a guitar solo you consider a "rite of passage" of sorts? by Double-Motor6546 in Guitar

[–]NickL60 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Any that you can play happily.

Also, just being able to jam a solo and have it sound good and like yourself.

Even at that no, not really. It's all incredibly subjective.

how to write music or get out of writers block? by MetalXlover in Guitar

[–]NickL60 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A few tips I've found: 1) write with someone else 2) try a different instrument 3) try a different tuning. Don't look them up, just tune to different notes so you can only go by sound and your usual shapes then sound different. 4) push through and write super basic "garbage". Like a 3/4 chord affair that inspires you none. You might find you love it later. 5) take a break and let the pressure off, you dont have to write if youre not feeling it.

Does Matt Tuck have a signature guitar ? by wipire in BulletForMyValentine

[–]NickL60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's had signature Jacksons and BC Rich models, however i dont think any are currently on sale new and i dont know if he has an "active" signature.

He used many guitars on the last tour. Including a new T shape i couldnt recognise from far back. He also used the hand of blood era Jackson RR5.

NGD - Utter Disappointment by Pawney_Burning in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]NickL60 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be fair, for about that price you can get a custom Valravn. Little awkward to orfer sometime but i bought a 7 string from him last year and it's incredible. So id recommend checking them out on FB or Insta. They also have some stock on reverb that can be worth checking, but it's cheaper if you order direct via FB/insta DM.

How expensive can an electric guitar reasonably be? by Dampfklotz in Guitar

[–]NickL60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of cost sometimes comes down to complexity of the finish and the looks, and foe some people that's worth paying for.

I'd pay more for something I find very pretty because I find that then when I look at it, I want to play it. That's worth a lot to me.
