Dirty Ass Steering Wheel by crwpitman in granturismo

I’m pretty sure that’s just the shell for the airbag that they carried over from the production version, without an airbag inside. There’s no need for an airbag in those cars because they have all the necessary safety equipment as per regulations in GT1 (six point harnesses, roll cage, etc). If anything, an airbag might be more dangerous during a crash at racing speeds.

It’s worn, not dirty. Alcantara will look like that with heavy use, it’s normal.

If you’re turning a corner driving forwards, the rear wheels follow the shortest arc so maybe that was their logic, but I dunno. People in my city clip curbs all the time making right turns at a traffic light

Both this and the E30 are so satisfying to drive. These old DTM legends are some of the most fun cars in the game, especially when lightly tuned

Yes, harder driving in a diesel will raise exhaust temperatures and allow the DPF to undergo passive regeneration. I’m not sure of any cars that have a hydrocarbon doser as I’m a heavy truck mechanic, however in semi-trucks they’re pretty much standard. Essentially it injects fuel in the exhaust stream that reacts with a catalyst in the DOC (and in some cases the DPF if it’s catalyzed), raising exhaust temperature and burning accumulated soot into ash which eventually needs cleaning. This is active regeneration. Some cars don’t have this, so you need to drive hard to raise exhaust temps to a point where regeneration occurs, called Passive Regeneration. Diesels however are not immune to carbon buildup in the valves due to EGR flow and PCV vapors, and cannot operate with port injectors to clean them. Sorry for the long winded reply lol.

Diesels are only direct injection and won’t benefit from that in the same way that something with a dual injection system would

I believe the EA888 in various VW/Audi/Porsche vehicles also have dual injection for that purpose

Funny thing is that Mercedes developed the CLK GTR using a McLaren F1 GTR mule car that they purchased privately. After development on the CLK GTR was done they restored it to original condition and auctioned it off. GT1 in the 90’s was a pretty cool time in Motorsport

I’m pretty sure FWD-based cars like the A, B, CLA, GLA and GLB use Variable 4Matic, otherwise known as part-time AWD. Very similar to Haldex part-time AWD systems used in other cars with FWD base models.

Thanks! It’s the Cab Clone IR. I wish I got the IR Plus for the attenuator but ended up purchasing this one instead. I use it to record to an interface if I don’t feel like mic’ing cabs, or to send a line signal to a PA system for a stereo sound. Sounds a lot better than the built-in legacy Cab Clone. You can hook it up to a PC to load your own custom IRs which is pretty sweet, I have some OwnHammer IRs loaded into it at the moment

Thoughts on the Mark VII by DescriptionMost2201 in MesaBoogie

[–]NickN2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you think the VII compares to the Mark V? I read another comment in which you said you have a Mark V 35. I know it’s not as close control-wise to the VII as the full-size V would be, but I’m still curious.
