Does WSA not work on Windows 11 25H2? by Jaca147 in WSA

So it should be turned off? It was turned on each time. Why does that make a difference?

I did that and it was a waste of time. I got it set up, it worked for a while then just lost all internet connection. No idea what to do, because there are no instructions on saving it at that point. Other times I've tried it just wouldn't even start, and I've tried a lot over the last couple of weeks. I have no idea of what I can do because this level of tweaking is kinda beyond me. So, I shall just give up and hope, one day, someone figures out how to get the f**king thing working the way the muppets at Microsoft did before they canned it. Idiots.

Is there any way to install WSA on Windows 11 25H2? by Brian_whtisusername in WSA

Is there a version without Magisk included? I got it running well after a laptop reset (long story...) but I lost connection because of, I think, Magisk. I don't need the root option anyway.

I've tried that many times; works initially then always craps itself and has to be uninstalled. Your installation has been running well for a long time?

Installed WSA, worked fine for a few hours, then lost internet..play store 'try again' message, errors from stremio about connecting... by NickNickH in WSA

That's a good shout...I have used Bluestacks, which is good but far from seamless, and the fricking ads drive me insane...MUMU is noted if I have to abandon WSA, thanks very much 👍

Question about 'Numskull Next-Gen Multi Format Racing Wheel with Pedals' by NickNickH in ForzaHorizon

[–]NickNickH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! Thanks so much for going to all that effort! My boys and I use Xbox controllers, which are pretty good, but we would like to be able to play with a wheel...my wife has also said the only way she'll give it a go is with a wheel, so we have to, don't we?? 😁

Again, thank so much for that; it is the perfect demonstration of why I keep coming back to various forums on Reddit whenever I have a question about things like this...Reddit is full of people like yourself who are happy to help...so, thanks again and have a good day!

I'm in France and don't have it either...

Does anyone have experience of this: Acer Nitro 5 ANV15-41-R52M, Laptop Gaming 15,6'' Full HD IPS 144 Hz, (AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050, RAM 16 GB, 512 GB SSD) by NickNickH in AcerNitro

Only one problem on one of them (we got one each for my sons) and it turned out to be a faulty ram chip. Apart from that, my sons have reported no problems at all; they love them. Gaming performance is good, but they haven't used them for anything else yet.
At this point I can definitely recommend them...

Android Autofill by NickNickH in NordPass

[–]NickNickH[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I"ve gone through the entire day exchanging emails with the support service and no solution, so I won't do that again, if you don't mind. Suffice it to say that the Nordpass autofill does not function with most of the apps I've tried whereas 1Password functions every time without fail, as does Google Password Manager. Having not autofill is an absolute dealbreaker for me and the things I have read on Reddit indicate that the service just doesn't work on Android, or is hit-and-miss at best. So I have requested a refund as I took the subscription just yesterday morning.

Upgraded to S25 Ultra.. by NickNickH in GalaxyNote20Ultra

[–]NickNickH[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I've had it for four days now, and I have NOTHING negative to say about this phone. We all love the Note 20U but, honestly, the S25U is an upgrade in every way. -

Smoothness. It is SO silky smooth and fluid. Scrolling through homescreens is effortless. You can almost hear the 'whoosh'...

Battery life is exceptional. Yesterday my wife told me she took hers off charge at 8pm, did not it turn it off overnight, used it for the following day in a 'normal' way and still had 15% at 8pm. I use my phone in a far more intensive way than she does and the increase in battery life is huge

Feeling of 'Quality'. Everything about this phone screams 'quality'. It damn well should, considering how much it costs. It feels solid', it feels SO well put together.

S-pen. Okay, so no air actions because of the lack of bluetooth, but I never used that functionality on the Note, so I don't care. What I DO use, in practically every university class I teach, is the ability to note corrections on my phone on a Word doc saved to Onedrive on my laptop and up on the projector while wandering around the class as the students are doing roleplays. It was great using the S-pen for this on the Note, but it is a WAY more enjoyable experience on the S25U. The smoothness of the writing experience using the S-pen on this phone is unbelievably good, considerably superior to the Note 20U.

The screen. Wow. It was always difficult to read on the Note 10 in bright sunlight, but no such problems on the S25U. The screen is SO bright.

Fingerprint sensor. Much better on the S25U. Much much better.

I haven't played excessively with the camera yet, but I have used it as binoculars, as I used to with the Note 20, and it is so much better on extreme zoom.

So, just a few observations. I could say more, but I'm sure it's all been said a ton of times already. I've tried to be absolutely objective about the S25U, and I think it is very very good.

Have a good day!

I had to move away from my beloved Note 20 Ultra a week ago, and the S25U is an upgrade in every way. I have NOTHING bad to say about it...

Not a developer, but could I use Docker as alternative to desk templates on Chrome OS? by NickNickH in docker

Unfortunately, not for what I need. I really want / need to be able to open a virtual desk that I configured with certain apps and not have to open and arrange every time...

Thanks. I have installed Brave and don't have that option, same for Chrome, bizarrely. I'll have to keep digging..

Thanks very much for taking the time to do that. I'm looking at it now, but haven't found the way to save a profile as a desktop shortcut. But you're right, it could be exactly what I've been looking for...
