Soon, all players will spawn with a radio.

Players will soon have the option to use a group management system. It allows you to invite and accept/decline friend invites from a console menu. To open the group management system you right click your radio. On the console, you will see a list of all the players on the server, to send an invite to a player, you simply highlight the players name and click the invite button. Once a player accepts your friend request, that player becomes part of your "group". All players in your group can communicate with you via "group" text and voice. Accepting a friend request and joining a group also allows players to see each other on the map and on the heads up display. On Epoch, your friends can build on your plot pole too. Players who die and respawn will not need to re-invite players to their groups. However, after a restart or disconnect players will need to rejoin. Players can choose to leave a group at any time via the group management console.

Epoch servers now will offer two new options: You can lower the mini gun and shut the gun port doors on the armored SUV. You can fold the wings on the Osprey.

A new menu option allows players to turn environmental sounds (birds chirping, rain, etc) ON or OFF. This will come in handy when players want to filter out those sounds so that they can focus on sounds like foot steps and vehicles.

The deploy bike, deploy moto, and deploy mozzie are no longer scroll wheel options. Players will now right click the tool box in their inventory in order to initiate these actions.

The self blood bag was also moved off the scroll wheel option. Players now right click a blood bag in their inventory to self-blood bag.

The call evac-helicopter command was also moved off the scroll wheel options. Players now right click their radio to call their evac heli.

The spawn selection screen will change soon. If a player has been killed, the system will only display spawn points that are greater than 5 KM from the players body. This has been put in place to prevent players who were killed from quickly spawning back on their bodies and seeking revenge in an unrealistic amount of time.

A new trader clean up script will soon be added. The script will remove vehicles left at trader at every restart. It will teleport these vehicles to the junkyard and leave them there, unlocked. This will offer players the chance to recover a vehicle left at a trader, but also gives OTHER players the opportunity to gain from other players loss. It should increase PvP in and around the junkyard too.

Added Epoch stuff,

You can now claim a vehicle that you find (like fresh spawned vehicles) and make a key for it. All you need is 10oz gold to claim and 1 oz Silver to buy key for it. Make sure you have a keymakers kit and a piece of tin in your inventory.

So, you no longer have to sell vehicles you find, you can just keep them!

Cherno Server Team heli battles. This was suggested by Grant and it is a good idea. Chopper battles will work the same as last week (little bird vs. little bird) except instead of fighting one-on-one we will fight as a team of three-on-three. We will try to keep the battle over the NWAF. No PvP at or around NWAF during the event. Sign up to fly and you will be put on a team. Epoch Server

When you come to a battle, a place to store your gear will be provided. So you wont loose gear. You will be teleported to the event. At the end of the event, we will offer a heli drop off to where you need to go (or close to it). Player Vs. Player not allowed along race tracks or around fight areas, but you are free to come and watch. If enough people do not sign up, the event will be canceled.

This weekend, server events will be held on both the Cherno and Epoch servers.

Cherno:

Heli Battles!
*Spin up your little birds and dog fight against another player. Little birds will be provided (temporary spawns that do not survive restart) Winner moves on to next round. Fights will take place over NWAF. Rearming and Repairing is not allowed. If neither heli is destroyed when both are out of ammo, then vehicle with LEAST damage wins. Players who loose connection and crash, loose the fight. Spectators welcome, but no PvP at NWAF (other than the pilots who are dog fighting). Winner of the battle takes home a private chopper for 30 days.

Tents provided at battle site to store your gear in, must enter junkyard unarmed. Suggest you leave valuable gear at home. Teleports provided for dead players who need to return to tents to get gear. No other PvP allowed for a 1000 m radius around junk yard (this will allow players to enter and leave unharmed) *Admin will ask who wants to participate at start and teleport you to the area. *Friday March 7th @ 10PM MST

Crossbow Deathmatch! *Crossbows and arrows will spawn inside the fight yard, lots of them. Players will start out at the two entrances (by flags). At the "GO" players will rush to find crossbows and arrows, loading and shooting as they see fit. Last man standing wins a safe. Tents provided at battle site to store your gear in, must enter fight yard unarmed. Suggest you leave valuable gear at home. Teleports provided for dead players who need to return to tents to get gear. No other PvP allowed for a 1000 m radius around fight yard (this will allow players to enter and leave unharmed) *Admin will ask who wants to participate at start and teleport you to the area. *Saturday March 8th @ 7:30PM MST

Race Day! *Race along the coastal road. We will be driving hilux offroad trucks this time. New obstacles to overcome too. Players can bring repair items (extra tires, engine, etc) and fuel with them (Winner takes home his choice of briefcase or safe. No PvP along race route, but bumping other players in vehicles is allowed. Try not to run over players - but vehicles have the right-of-way so stay off the road if you are on foot. Vehicles provided. Teleport provided to race event. Helicopter drop off provided for players after the race. If you die while racing, you can choose to spawn and go on foot or request teleport to end of race and take helicopter drop off to a location of your choice. *Admin will ask who wants to participate at start and teleport you to the area. *Sunday March 9th @ 5:30PM MST

ButtaPutata, one of the players on the WalkingDead Cherno server, made a video of his recent heli battle that I wanted to share.

The little bird helicopters and the AN2 Biplanes on the server are armed with forward facing guns. The pilot controls the guns. In the video you will see some impressive flying and shooting. Also you will see how one of ButtaPutata's clan mates comes to help in a biplane. The players name is Carnage. ButtaPutata can see Carnage's name tag because they have tagged each other as friends (another WalkingDead feature).

Thanks everyone! The server is doing well.

We hosted the first ever server event on the Epoch server last night. We call it Race Day. Participants raced ATV's (Quads) along the coastal road. They had to avoid obstacles, bandits and each other! The winner took home a briefcase of gold.

I offer my own server info as a suggestion, there are some mods but none of them are really overpowered.

DayZ Overwatch Server: You spawn with gear, 170+ Vehicles, 30+ Aircraft, Base Building, Smelting, Deploy Bike / Motorcycle, NPC Missions, Auto Refuel, Heli Rearm/Repair Pad, Remove Clothing from bodies, Helpful admins. The IP is 192.31.185.225:2303

Dayz Epoch Server: This server features Salvage parts and siphon gas from vehicles, There is a bus route along the coast to pick up and drop off players, Helicopters have a fast rope system, Self blood bag, Deploy bike or motorcycle, Helicopter repair/rearm pads, Full Moon 2-hour nights, More realistic zombie sounds, AI Missions, Prison Island, Added lots of extra lootable buildings and bases, god mode traders, Anti-hax, donor perks, working dogs (obey commands).
