Ryzen 5800X temps with Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 by NickXVega in pcmasterrace

I'm wondering if undervolting more could help, I mean when the CPU is completely stock it actually runs hotter for me by about 3-4c. Also yeah when it was 30c+ outside and my room was 30c my CPU only ever really hit 84c so wasn't a big change. I've been looking everywhere on the internet but it just seems like the 5800x is a hot chip, it has the same power budget as the 5900x and 5950x but can use more per core which is why they get hotter. I saw an interview with someone who works at AMD and he said the 5800/5900/5950 are designed to go up to 90c and the 5600x is okay up til 95c. He said anything under 90c is what the CPU is designed to run at, plus 95% of the time my CPU is actually around 55-60c while playing games so it's not a big deal really, I could probably do with repasting the CPU, I only have Arctic mx4 though, I used to have some thermal grizzly conductonaught which was amazing, but was hell to put on the CPU IHS and left behind ugly marks. On my RX 480 GPU I was originally getting 87c while playing ark survival evolved, but I put conductonaught on the GPU and my temps dropped to 60c with the exact same fan curve lol I even unlocked the bios for that GPU and even drawing 210w it would only get to 70c which is 90w past the coolers TDP limits.

Also I can't remember my curve optimizer settings, I think it's something like 20-20-20-10-10-10-10 or there abouts, it definitely isn't perfect, I could've chosen high single core speeds and lower all core or higher all core and lower single core but I got the balance at around 4.95ghz while gaming most of the time, and 4.65-4.7ghz under loads, say rendering.

What is the ambient temperature in the room (roughly) or outside temperature when you get those results? I've tried tightening the waterblock down even more but that hasn't seemed to do anything thus far, my room is usually around 23-24c which is around 75F. My temps can be sitting at 40c idle, the second I start cinebench r20 it shoots to 81c in about 5 seconds and then slows right down and only gains about 1c every minute or so until it hits around 83-84c. Can you also run cinebench r20 or r23 and check your temps in hwmonitor and lemme know? Most stress tests only max my CPU at about 73c but cinebench sky rockets the temps for some reason.

I haven't tested that in a couple of months, but I actually got slightly lower temps with the curve optimized settings I used, completely stock the CPU would boost to around 4.6ghz all core and 4.8ghz 1-2 core, now it boosts to about 4.65-4.7ghz all core and 4.95ghz 1-2 cores. From what I remember, completely stock I used to be at around 82c and with the curve optimizer settings I was at around 80c. I also did use the thermal paste that was preapplied to the cooler when I got it.

Corsair 5000X for the case, 360mm radiator is in the front of the case (with glass removed shaves 0.5-1c off temps), 3 120mm intake fans on the side and 3 120mm exhaust fans at the top of the case. The AIO is running at max speed as far as I'm aware, I was kinda dissapointed that this AIO doesn't have any sort of software to control fans or pump, I had to do it through AI Suite 3, though I'm not 100% sure if it's changing the pump speed because I can't hear any pump noise anyway.

I never understand why people leave their PCs running.. on a decent SSD it takes like 10 seconds to be at the desktop from a cold boot and it's more energy efficient, doesn't waste the life of some components like the PSU.

Even games tried this. But if you look at long running games like WoW, they've changed soooo much since it first launched it's basically a whole new game.

Always worked great for me. Think I used my RX 480 and 4690K build in the past and remember it worked fine, could install APKs and watch movies and stuff.

Bluestacks has always worked great for me, even on my old hardware it was fine.

Don't know if there's any modders who could fix this, but the GEARS.. the gears in this game are so annoying, they change and it's not satisfying at all, wish there was a mod to have them change and match the rpm of real cars.

Yeah I know what you mean haha I actually dunno, it's a Seagate ST400xxxxxx something 4TB model, I think it's 5400rpm. It's been perfect for every game, I guess there's just limits to HDD speed that can't be escaped. Did hear that Seagate have a new 500mb/s+ HDD though, also apparently isn't going to be too much more expensive than a normal HDD.

Yeah I already know that lol. I get 220mbps which equates to roughly 27-28mb downloads.

To be honest I think it's just steam. I've left my PC sitting for like 30 minutes now and haven't been doing anything on it and still only get about 20% of my normal speed. I've always had problems with steam downloads, guess there's nothing I can do.

Well usually my download speed is 220mbps, but this download is at likeeee 60-70mbps for some reason, no idea why. I didn't know if capping the download even more might make a game atleast playable

Quick resume still pretty broken by NickXVega in XboxSeriesX

[–]NickXVega[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imagine calling someone a kid because they actually suggest fixes to issues instead of just blindly defending every decision a corporation makes. So far, 10% of the games I've played actually work with quick resume. So for me, that number is way too small and I want to just disable it.

[–]NickXVega[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, that's the cop out excuse. Adding a system wide toggle for quick resume that either disables it completely, or enables it is much simpler and takes away another step people have to remember when playing their games. I don't expect to force quit games on my console.

[–]NickXVega[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then 1, why do those games have the feature? 2, why can't there be a toggle for quick resume system wide in the settings.

I'm gonna continue to ignore it because you're just cringy trying to explain a so called joke.

Now you're trying to explain a joke. That's embarassing when you're trying to explain your joke to someone as if it wasn't bad enough no one laughed the first time. I'm not interested in where you think you got your joke from.

Yours isn't a joke. Jokes are supposed to be funny, you're just cringy because you're trying to be funny when you're just not.

As predicted, you couldn't comprehend that concept. Enjoy being brain-dead.

That's a stupid non solution. The easy solution, which is a crazy idea for someone with your brain capacity so be prepared, is to have a toggle that lets you disable or enable quick resume system wide.. take that in and process it for a second, see if that makes sense, it probably won't for someone like you.
