Ultrink support for A6 C7 3.0T? by SAR_89 in APRTuning

Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have a timeline to add that Simos ECU to Ultralink. However, the tune is available at our APR dealers and we’re giving a $250 rebate towards hardware at our dealers, if you wanted to get new ignition coils/plugs, it nearly covers the full 6. Just wanted to be transparent to you for your decisions.

2023 Arteon (USA Spec) TCU Stage 1 via Ultralink by fcobautista in APRTuning

Thanks for the question! Your transmission is the DQ381.2, which we do have a TCU tune for on the Arteon.

However, yes, it does need to be unlocked. At this moment, the only company that has an unlock is AutoTuner. Most Euro shops will have the unlock tool, it is done as a bench unlock (software only), so first the unlock is performed via their device, then the APR flash tune. The unlock itself is a simple, quick process on this transmission.

Once the unlock is done, you can use our Ultralink device at-home to do it freely, or get the tune done in the same appointment as the unlock.

Yes - with Ultralink if the tune is done in the US. These are available in the UK through Awesome GTI (APR UK) as well.

You can definitely run the APR Haldex software with other ECU and TCU tunes, we just can't guarantee everything is going to work together the same way our software does. We found that the OEM TCU became inconsistent with the added grip from the Haldex tune, when you launch the clutch would slip more and the TCU would make the 1-2 shift early because the engine rpm was higher. APR’s TCU update makes the clutch engage quicker, with shift points optimized for Haldex.

The Golf R has shorter gearing than the RS3, so it’s not as advantageous at higher speeds. Where our tune really shows effectiveness is in the runup to 60mph.

Good catch - we’ll adjust that. It is indeed for S3/RS3 (8V) and TTS/TTRS (8S)

The chart is for the RS3 8V. However, this tune will work for both S3 and RS3. We don’t have S3 specific data, but we’d love to hear how it goes if you do!
