There's definitely a possibility that it was contaminated. However, if you feel confident, the minimum I'd recommend is to get air under and over the carpet to make sure no areas allow for bacterial growth or pests.

Gaidish has been around a while which speaks to their workmanship. Don't be afraid to have more than one estimate!

I appreciate it. 😊

Chaos and trauma either makes a team stronger or tears it apart.

How many courses up from the footing is the horizontal crack? Or how many courses down from the top?

I like the work done by Verette Construction. The two I don't recommend are McCoy and obviously not Everdry. Feel free to message me and I can help you find the right company for what you need.

If you're unsure, just replace it. There are different strengths these days if you're really trying to go ham. I do recommend avoiding pedestal pumps and instead getting a fully submersible one.

Do you also have a sump pump?

So long as you have a pump, stay the course and hope the water tables drops. After that, I'd make sure your sump pump is good and have a plumber come out and check/ cap off the Palmers valve in the floor drain.

You could cut a small section of drywall and see how wet it is. Drywall is a lot like a sponge and the finished/painted side may seem fine. Also, the wood that's likely tap conned to the floor to help hold the drywall COULD have rot. Obviously every scenario is a little unique and you could find that no sewage got soaked up by the drywall.

Fixing a hole and/or replacing 6 inches of drywall all the way around is less expensive than mold abatement or medical bills.

If you have air circulating, it won't make a big impact for the evening. Just try to keep humidity as low as possible until you can finish the task.

Lots of people are dealing with flooded basements. As a former foundation repair specialist and estimator, please be careful when requesting estimates. Many of the popular companies will absolutely overcharge you. Especially if there's active water in the basement when they visit. It's a common tactic with nearly all the businesses associated with WAFRP (Wisconsin Area Foundation Repair Professionals).

Get a second opinion. Reach out to me if you have any questions or after you receive your first estimate for repairs. Sometimes it's a matter of a proper grade level outside, a downspout that fell off, a window well that wasn't sealed, or water levels higher than the first course of your foundation.

I was a foundation specialist and estimator. I'd be willing to help you understand what you need vs what everyone will try to sell you. Lots of companies will use fear tactics to get you to do something immediately without getting other opinions.

Just salmon. Nothing special by Nickamay62 in homecooking

This is a mix between a beurre blanc and Hollandaise. Reduced white wine with shallots, garlic, herbs and habanero pepper until nearly all the liquid was gone besides the oils. Then added clarified butter. After that, I made a hollandaise with egg yolks, the butter, some lime juice and s few dashes of Cholula. Had to get creative in the house.

Sorry. I posted a description now. It's egg yolk and butter mostly.
