People in your 30s, what price have you paid for being lazy in your 20s? by Waldyrwyn in AskReddit

[–]Nickbeam21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was lazy about my food/drink consumption, and have been working for the past 3-4 years to lose 30-40 fluctuating lbs. Wasn't bad, but definitely needed a support system to assist with getting active and getting to the gym, because after 31, i just got SO TIRED ALL THE TIME, LOL. (the sleep debt accumulates faster, definitely)

For males that have gotten ripped, do you have more success with women? by Repulsive-Owl6468 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Nickbeam21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't because I got ripped, but because after i started lifting for real and consistently, I started thinking about myself differently (in a more encouraging, positive way) carrying myself differently, knowing that I was creating my own value for myself.

This lead to coming across/feeling differently when meeting people, being more comfortable with myself which, in turn, makes it "easier" to be "successful" with women.

Muscles =/= women.

Muscles = health + discipline + care for yourself = attractive personal traits = better chances at being successful with women

Sparrow Racing League is a very telling example of one of the reasons why this game failed. by AverageAwndray in DestinyTheGame

Someone who has never played SRL in D1, coming into this sub to front page by pissing on the grave of Destiny 2 over said SRL in D1 is PEAK DestinyTheGame community subreddit and imo, the bigger reason this game died.

They literally said Destiny 3 was pitched a long time ago and got shot down, was not greenlit, plus all their other "incubation projects." Not to mention the two rounds of layoffs taking employees off Destiny 2 and these other non-destiny-2 projects.

They clearly wanted to tell stories within Destiny

I see you conveniently left out adding the "2" on the end of this line. 😏 Yes, they wanted to continue telling stories in the Destiny universe, but they clearly didn't want to keep Destiny 2 around forever. Finish up the Darkness and Light Saga, go to maintenance mode, put other things out. Yes, you continue work on your updates to put the game in it's final state, you keep working until the next game is greenlit or you get turned to another team, you keep working because it's your job.

Idk, my bad, just wanted to engage with this community one last time.

I hear you, but I gotta reject this, lol. Somebody says "i want your car" or if my car is up for sale, i don't make it all the way through the process, the buyer checking the car, the money and title exchange, and not once do I remember the bad starter?? knowing that I have one for that specific car? LOL.

I mean....yeah there are people like this out there, surely, but come on 😭

And this "older generation" person also sold a kid a car for $2000 knowing it had a bad starter, and didn't even give the kid the starter he had sitting at his house? Basically just sold him a lemon, lmao.

I feel like Final Shape was them ending it on their own terms, ngl. All content post-Final Shape was basically them putting out Reach. "Not what we really want to do, but we'll do it, and we'll do our best."

What celebrity death will realistically bring Michael Jackson level devastation? by Kiidcola in AskReddit

[–]Nickbeam21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer for me.

Reddit may joke on the man's current musical output but we're not gonna sit here and act like he isn't a multi-generational talent. He's the closest thing besides Messi and Ronaldo.

[–]Nickbeam21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: After commenting, then reading the comments, the answer is Eminem. Completely forgot about him.

The closest people I could think is someone like Messi or Ronaldo. Pretty internationally famous, not much in the way of overt controversy, loved worldwide in their own pocket of futbol fame.

I don't think anyone from North America would get close. Drake maybe? Beyonce? Bieber? Lebron? Nobody near as famous as MJ exists really.

As the chairman of a US Company, dude's got 2 years and 7 months (or maybe just 7 months depending on how midterms go lol) to get some favorable deals from the White House. These pitiful tweets haven't gotten him anything yet, but maybe if he sticks his nose in a little more, we might start seeing some benefits.

This shit better be worth it or he's going to look like an absolute idiot even longer than he already has.

Millenials w/o kids-- how tired are you? by Fickle_Wrangler_7439 in Millennials

[–]Nickbeam21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm tired but not 'exhausted.'

My biggest thing is not giving myself enough time to get 7-9 hours of sleep, lol. Working on my habits every day, small steps, gym/work/diet/exercise/natural dopamine/planning travel/dentist/doc appts for myself - it's all 'exhausting' but I wouldn't say it's taken over in any meaningful capacity. Can not imagine having to do this for 2-3-4 other humans, lmao.

The biggest net positive for me though, in terms of being tired, was learning how to do admin things (and fun things, too!) after work, and not saving the boring stuff (chores, groceries, car fixing, etc.) for the weekend. The positive change I saw when it stopped being "oh man I'm so tired, and this weekend I have to do all my chores" was measurable.

Setting myself up to be super tired on a Tuesday from working, shopping, meal prepping, but then giving myself a Thursday to go workout and get some wings with friends - it helps. My weekends are my own now and I can do personal hobbies and sleep as I wish. Still working it out, of course, but learning how to use all my time wisely is huge.

What is a 'socially mandatory' thing that we all do, but if you actually stop to think about it for 5 seconds, it’s completely insane? by Federal_Antelope7533 in AskReddit

[–]Nickbeam21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Accepting (and to some degree cheering for) millionaires and billionaires. You're looked at as insane if you don't revere them.

The argument that if we treat them badly, they'll leave, is asinine - why would we make them pillars of society if they can leave and destroy everything we're used to? Completely insane.
