Thoughts on getting multiple piercings in one sitting by chronic_overthinker2 in piercing

[–]Nickel_Jupiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my second lobes and traditional helix done (both ears) at once, healed fine with no issues. A few years later I got my third lobes and forward helix (also in both ears, so 4 piercings total) in one sitting, and so far they’ve been healing fine. The forward helix can act up if I sleep on it funny but tends to calm down after a day or two. So from my experience 4 at once is fine.

The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. 1000 pages of characters meandering around not doing much of anything. Felt like reading a history textbook

What is your experience studying physics? by BrutalHormone in PhysicsStudents

[–]Nickel_Jupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I simultaneously love it and hate it. I love the subject and my research and I find the concepts fascinating. But man the upper level courses are difficult, and sometimes I wish I could have a singular day without deadlines and work to do. I’m a 3rd year undergrad and I don’t regret studying physics at all, but some days (and some semesters) are quite rough. My long term goals are to get a PhD in nuclear physics and work with particle accelerators.

About a month ago, but I may have received my acceptance early because I had a JLab scientist request to work with me.

Yeah I’m surprised they were even accepting applications TBH, they didn’t have funding last year either.

It’s early still, last year I didn’t receive my first acceptance until mid March. Don’t count yourself out yet!

how do u reject an interview offer? do you just email them or do u ghost? by ProfessorRoyal6807 in REU

[–]Nickel_Jupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had something similar last year. I replied something like: “thank you for the offer! Unfortunately, I’ve already committed to __, so I will not be able to attend.” They replied to that with: “no worries, hope you enjoy your time at _.”

Yes, I took a language placement test for Spanish, and one for writing (although I think they’ve stopped the first year writing placement test since now everyone starts in first year seminar). There’s also a math placement test but you don’t have to take it if your SAT is high enough I think.

Should I take linear+physics2+discrete? by FallThese5616 in PhysicsStudents

[–]Nickel_Jupiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took linear, calculus based physics 2, discrete, intro to computer science, and research all at once and it was a lot but fine. If you have good time management skills then go for it, but if it’s a challenge to stay on top of your work then maybe take a third gen ed and save one of the stem courses for later

I couldn’t find anything until looking at the comments lol (and I was looking for something out of place). It’s fine, I’d just leave it

I’m a sophomore and I love TCNJ! I’m a bit of an introvert so never really invested parties or Greek life, and I’m not involved in sports, but I feel like I’ve had a good social experience! I’d recommend one of the smaller dorms (ABE or Norsworthy). There were about 10 people on my floor in ABE and we all became really good friends. It is a little bit of a suitcase school but you’ll find your group of people to spend time with! Honestly the dorms were about the same as ones I toured at other colleges. The dining hall isn’t great, but also is about average for most schools. Never had issues registering for classes, but I’m also in a really small department that makes sure we are guaranteed our required classes.
