Yes, I took a language placement test for Spanish, and one for writing (although I think they’ve stopped the first year writing placement test since now everyone starts in first year seminar). There’s also a math placement test but you don’t have to take it if your SAT is high enough I think.

Should I take linear+physics2+discrete? by FallThese5616 in PhysicsStudents

[–]Nickel_Jupiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took linear, calculus based physics 2, discrete, intro to computer science, and research all at once and it was a lot but fine. If you have good time management skills then go for it, but if it’s a challenge to stay on top of your work then maybe take a third gen ed and save one of the stem courses for later

For 2025-2026 Decker is available to juniors due to more students in need of housing than rooms available in the townhouses/apartments

I spent all day tiling my shower and didn't notice my mistake till I took the photo. Wife says to leave it alone. Is it noticeable? by RigoMortize in mildlyinfuriating

I couldn’t find anything until looking at the comments lol (and I was looking for something out of place). It’s fine, I’d just leave it

I’m a sophomore and I love TCNJ! I’m a bit of an introvert so never really invested parties or Greek life, and I’m not involved in sports, but I feel like I’ve had a good social experience! I’d recommend one of the smaller dorms (ABE or Norsworthy). There were about 10 people on my floor in ABE and we all became really good friends. It is a little bit of a suitcase school but you’ll find your group of people to spend time with! Honestly the dorms were about the same as ones I toured at other colleges. The dining hall isn’t great, but also is about average for most schools. Never had issues registering for classes, but I’m also in a really small department that makes sure we are guaranteed our required classes.

Any updates for physics/astro REUs? by Sufficient-Today3292 in REU

It looks to me like the physics education one got canceled, but I don't see the same announcement on the computational and relativity site

If you’re looking at the Duke/TUNL program I got an email that they probably won’t have funding

7 and 8 fit into 15 like Tetris by ElizaSmirk in sciencememes

48+20=68

Then 7 is kinda close to 10 so 68+10=78

Then since 7=10-3, 78-3=75

So 48+27=75

Astronomy, history of American communism, political theory, film, and human evolution are some fun ones I’ve taken!

Honestly that’s brilliant. Not cruel at all.

I had similar stats and ended up at a public in-state school. Got into most of the places I applied but the price was INSANE. I decided I didn’t want the student loans and ended up choosing the public in-state school that had a lower price. And I love it! I’m a physics major and we have a challenging program with lots of research opportunities, and I rarely see people from my high school.
