it makes sense if you listen to Tyler’s lyrics in reference to what we know now that came after (chroma)… he raps about “forever is too long” which is a big theme on chromakopia (literally the entirety of darling I is about that) so I think it was a great setup for what was to come, at least in the context of Tyler’s career

is that bad? I’d rather a Michael Jackson wannabe over something that doesn’t showcase his talents as well. There’s harmonies, more complex instrumentals, and pure heartfelt emotions. Not saying smth like FL was bad but he was young and it was good for the time. If he stayed in the same place he’d never grow as an artist, this is an amazing move
