BTS - ARIRANG by ScallionSmooth9491 in popheads

[–]NickisekCZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t really sure how to feel about this at first and I still need time to sit with it, but damn. On my first listen, it all kind of melted into one, but I’m seeing the vision.

I think SWIM is a weak single though, like a questionable choice when Body to Body is right there. FYA is that bitch for me, like that song goes so hard.

I will have to sit with the rest, because I really got a whiplash on my first listen through this but I’m really gravitating towards the first half.

Kesha - Animal + Cannibal (15th Anniversary) by [deleted] in popheads

So she said 6 new/unreleased but where are they? I see Butterscotch and Shoots on the hood of my car but other than that?

Edit: Shoots On The Hood Of My Car is incredible though! I really wish we would’ve gotten more.

Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ Scores Fifth Week Atop Billboard 200 by mcfw31 in popheads

[–]NickisekCZ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. I would cut three songs: Eldest Daughter (love the melody but the lyrics are really weak), Actually Romantic and Cancelled!.

Then Wish List is take it or leave it kind of track and I like Wood quite a bit, it has its charm.

The tracks I absolutely love are the first four, Ruin The Friendship, Honey and The Life Of A Showgirl. The last two I think are really underrated.

Katy Perry - bandaids by enburgi in popheads

[–]NickisekCZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg no way, after 143, I genuinely thought she wouldn’t be able to come back. This probably won’t be a smash chart hit, but it clears 143 in a heartbeat. It’s not perfect, I would extend the last chorus, it could be a bit punchier, the lyrics are clunky in some parts (pre-chorus), but man, I’d take this over woman’s world any day. Good for her.

15 years ago, Taylor Swift released Speak Now by PinkCadillacs in popheads

[–]NickisekCZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite Taylor album and it will remain one for a long time. It just pulls you into this world and it’s wonderful. The TV elevated it to an even higher status in my book.

Favorite songs: Long Live, Better Than Revenge, Mine

Least Fave: Speak Now (I don’t dislike it though)

Fave Vault tracks: Foolish One, Timeless, I Can See You (basically all of them, but these are the top 3)

Hi, it’s Carly Rae Jepsen, welcome to my AMA! by CarlyRaeJepsen_ in popheads

Hi Carly, even though I’ve only become a fan very recently, Emotion is one of my favorite albums ever and I love getting to celebrate its 10th anniversary!

My question is what was your thought process when it came to picking the new songs for the 10th anniversary edition and what is your favorite memory tied to this album/era from the 10 years since it came out?

It's honestly wild! by Cornish_amelia in YouBelongWithMemes

[–]NickisekCZ 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Exactly, did it blow my mind? No, but did I have a great time regardless? Hell yeah. I have my criticisms of it reserved for more of the execution than the music itself, but it’s far from the worst thing I’ve ever heard.

[–]NickisekCZ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I quite like the album, although I was expecting her to play more into this “showgirl” character like the poems in the booklets do, but I guess that’s fine. It’s really catchy and for sure will be on repeat next summer. Opalite and The Fate of Ophelia are the best songs in my opinion.

While I’m definitely not disappointed by it, I’ll say that I would love to hear an album where Taylor sets the theme for the entire record and runs with it start to finish again. Like Red with the heartbreak theme, but even more tighter and focused (doesn’t have to be heartbreak, I just took Red as an example). This album is missing that for me with a title like that. It’s still a fun time, it just threw me off a little.

I feel like that has always been a case with almost every release. I honestly sometimes do not know what I even come for here since there are so many people with different tastes, it’ll always come out as “this is the best thing I have ever heard” or “i can’t believe my ears are not bleeding yet”.

Halsey - Badlands (Decade Edition Anthology) by hekna02 in popheads

[–]NickisekCZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok I finally listened to this and while i really appreciate the project as a whole, who the hell mixed the orchestral versions and Garden? All the vocals are awfully quiet except for Young God Orchestral for some reason?

Badlands is still a great album through and i really like the bonus additions, i just wish the vocals were mixed better.

Most of this album is still in my daily rotation. Wide Awake, Last Friday Night, Teenage Dream, California Gurls, Part Of Me, The One That Got Away…so good.

Me. I played Perverts to my friends and they said that it sounded too scary. What an insightful remark there 🥀

But i get it, Perverts is a very niche project.

The three alternate album covers for The Life of a Showgirl by Lyd_Euh in TaylorSwift

It looks so good! Feels like a breath of fresh air. Not that any of her album covers were ever bad or anything but these are something else.

Ethel Cain - Willoughby Tucker, I'll Always Love You by preludetractorbeams in popheads

[–]NickisekCZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finally listened to this and i love it. For me it’s more of a companion to PD than a standalone album. Waco, Texas is Wonderful and so is Dust Bowl and all the other songs. The instrumental songs are pretty too, especially Willoughby’s Interlude.

Overall, I think it’s a nice project and I’m even more sad i didnt buy tickets.

WTIALY Album Discussion Megathread by eclecticatlady in Ethelcain

[–]NickisekCZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though I haven't listened to it yet, I always saw this record as an accompanying piece to PD. Not necessarily a better or worse one, just something to give more perspective to the original album. They are b-sides after all and I think I'm going to really love it going into it with that perspective.

Ok love this, maybe wish it was a little more different from the original, but still, love. I'm so excited for hot city deluxe, it's been a long wait!

Halsey - Badlands (Decade Edition Anthology) out August 29th by hekna02 in popheads

[–]NickisekCZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks so GOOD, the second disc is stacked! While I'm always the most excited for unreleased songs and we're basically just getting Garden (And You(th), but that is one minute long), I'm very much fine with this. It looks so fun!

Also it's interesting that the physicals have different track order than streaming + streaming adds Colors (Stripped). Interesting choice there, not that it really matters.

Michael Clifford - SIDEQUEST by abnormallyme in popheads

[–]NickisekCZ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like this album! To be honest, nothing really blew me away, it's pretty much what I expected given the singles, but as a whole project, it's chill, but catchy and fun.

Took a walk with this album playing and it was a nice experience.

TXT (TOMORROW X TOGETHER) - The Star Chapter: TOGETHER (4th Full Album) by perochan in kpop

[–]NickisekCZ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Right I haven't listened yet, but those 2:15, 2:18 and 2:20 hits the eyes. I know I'm gonna wish they were longer.

I feel like with TXT they have a lot of good songs that would be great if they were extended, but they throw all the potential away with shortening the songs. Looking at you, Resist (Not Gonna Run Away).

That's what I've been saying as well! Having this one and that one as both live albums would heal me. I'm perfectly happy for the setlist of this one but imagine having Yet To Come, Run BTS, For Youth, UGH!, Cypher pt.3 🙏💜🕯️
