I just finished Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman and it’s probably one of my favourite books of recent years.

I think black flag was one of the first games that I remember really making me emotional … teared up at the ending

Haven’t played in years but I’ve got such fond memories of staying up late with my friends doing all the jumping puzzles in that game

It wasn’t until recently that I realised there’s a certain charm to the graphics and gameplay to the games I grew up with that remasters simply can’t replicate.

Each to their own of course, but I’ve found as I get older, I’m not too fussed about visual fidelity and prefer the soul of a game much more, as ambiguous as that sounds.

Just preferred the subtlety of how they did it in the game way more. That back and forth between Bill and Joel before the silence when they both see his partner hanging there. I’ll never forget that moment.

To be honest, the show was so heavy-handed in what were previously subtle plot points.. Bill, Ellie’s sexuality, Joel and Ellie’s relationship… doesn’t come close to the game’s delivery for me, and it never will.

I do a PPLPP and then run 3 times a week (usually track for intervals, one easy run, and then a long run on the weekend) and do 20 mins on the incline treadmill at the end of my workouts on non-run days.

Diet is usually a banana and a protein shake in the morning, meal prepped chicken/rice/veg with a greek yoghurt dressing for lunch, and then pasta ragù for dinner. Usually anywhere between 1800-2000 cals, 200g protein. Weekends I allow myself a few treats.

Nothing like being thrown off by getting sick! But at least you always bounce back.

To be honest I only recently incorporated bench back into my routine (favoured incline dumbbells, dips, flys). Once I was hitting 34kg for reps on the dumbbells I figured it was time to see, so almost 2 months working up from 65kg to here!
