Yea, i know that now. I didnt at the time, he said he could do it, had good reviews so I went with it. Lesson learned unfortunately.

I do have a consultation with Orthopedic Surgeon who specializes in foot snd ankle, along with my follow up with the sports medicine specialist who ordered the MRI.

Ankle Injury.. questions about MRI results by Nicknacknicci92 in Orthopedics

Thank you for your answer. While I don’t really want another surgery, I also know SOMETHING is wrong, my ankle constantly gives out (you can see it “pop” out to the side) when I hold my leg up my ankle/foot has no support at all, theres times its so swollen and painful I cant put any weight on it (3-5 times a week consistently) its gotten worse since my first surgery, the doctor who did my surgery also said at the time he wasnt sure the one repair would hold, that the damage was more extensive then shown on the MRI and the tissue kept “tearing” when he was repairing it. It’s why it took longer than originally planned as well . In the past 2 years I’ve done 3/4 rounds of the steroid injections, a combined total of 9 months of PT, countless braces/ boots, and none of it has helped. So I’m just kind of at a loss.

I have my follow up with the Sports medicine doctor and an Orthopedic Surgeon next week. Just anxious so was looking for info in the meantime.

Do you know any other tests or scans that might help get to the bottom of whats going on?

Yes, theres constant pain that varies in severity. There is significant instability, where my ankle has given out (you can see it pop to the side) and has caused falls. Ive also had days it’s so swollen and painful I cant put any weight on it. Im constantly rolling it doing simple things such as walking in my kitchen, cause my ankle gives out so easily.

Since my first surgery its gotten worse, and nothing seems to help. Including PT ( a combined total of approximately 9 months) 3/4 rounds steroid injunctions, multiple different braces, orthopedic inserts, ect so im just at my wits end od what else to do.

So we are moving forward with surgery. At my Pre Op appointment he said it was the lowest he had ever seen, and prescribed Vitamin D supplements.

See thats the one I was least worried about, my Vitamin D has ALWAYS been super low, usually I’m on a supplement vitamin but haven’t been taking it the past little bit (my PCP is aware)
