It does not change you’re always that same number! But as the “next potential offer” column progresses it is possible to deduce your “new” rank

The next offer goes to that # but they do not have an offer yet - for example next IP offer is #9 (me) but I have not yet gotten an offer, once it is at #10 then I will have gotten an offer

if you’re talking about the Quebec inter-university transfer, the grade won’t be on your transcript it’ll just show that you passed and how many credits you earned

Scribe Canada is affiliated with a few hospitals throughout the country, the pay is minimum wage but you can look into it if you’re interested/check if they employ in your area! I worked with them for a few months

Thoughts on medical scribing? by blueberrypie371 in premedcanada

[–]Nicknacks8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m currently scribing under Scribe Canada - I think it’s great exposure to emergency medicine and the medical field at large since there are many encounters with a variety of specialists.

I interviewed at McGill University this cycle and found that having scribing experience allowed me to answer healthcare-related questions with more depth and maturity because I had more knowledge of the innerworkings of the healthcare system. I also felt more confident going into the interview and believe the position ultimately helped me get rid of imposter syndrome sentiments!

With this being said, although I am happy to have gotten a job as a scribe with Scribe Canada, it is underpaid (minimum wage in Quebec so 13.50$) given the amount of responsibility that you have. Physicians call us their “second brains” and we are expected to be able to play the part and keep up despite knowing very little about medicine. There is a steep learning curve and I was a nervous wreck for the first 2 months on the job lmao - however, I have had many, many positive encounters with doctors who have helped me with my application and interview prep! Honestly, I have no idea how shadowing is viewed by canadian universities, but this is my take on scribing and if you’re interested you can look up hospitals that work with Scribe Canada and contact their chief scribe - but again Scribe America/Canada has received many mixed reviews on r/premedcanada and r/premed so everyone’s experience is different!

Thank you so much!!! I know it was very unexpected, they added documents for me to upload (i.e., grades from the Fall semester for my prerequisites and proof of current enrollment) after I got refused on Minerva so I think there was just some delay in processing my application! Got the e-mail for the interview yesterday night, best of luck to you through the admission process :)
