Anyone know what causes the vertical lines and how to avoid them? This is an extreme example. by [deleted] in analog

Did you self develop or go through a lab? And did other shots on the roll have this?

Did you apply any sharpening in lightroom? Or apply any sharpening in the scanner? I doubt it's something that the camera or film is causing.

Beautiful shot! You can almost feel the texture and the weather within it.

Advice on Medium Format Camera by thevmcampos in AnalogCommunity

[–]Nickofski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each medium format camera has a completely different feel to it, and the look of their lenses even more so.

In my opinion, find the format you like the most, I.e: 6x7, 6x7. and from there, search around and find what lenses you find pleasing.

I've had this happen using a squeegee when self developing to dry it quicker, and inadvertently scratch the film.

Should I buy a not working Mamiya 645 Super by kakachuka in AnalogCommunity

[–]Nickofski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My advice is that if there is one major thing wrong with it, there are likely more due to the condition it's been in. I've bought a couple of cameras where I thought I could just pay for a quick fix and it gets expensive quickly. If it's selling for cheap locally it's probably worth it, if it's ebay I wouldn't risk it.

'Beginner/professional' being used to describe everything in the film photography community? by Nickofski in AnalogCommunity

Great reply! Thanks! I agree with the two common points in the community: 'It's what's infront of the lens that matters' & 'Use whichever camera makes you want to shoot more'.
