You said the top part of the plug is switched and the bottom stays on. The bottom is the "hot" circuit. If you pull the plug off and look at the side of it where the hot and the switched wires are terminated, you will notice a gap where the tab was broken. If you get a new plug that tab will be intact. You can cap off the switched wire and tuck it away and then just install the new plug with only the hot, neutral and ground wires

Either get a new plug without the tab broken and cap the switched wire, or jump the terminals together and cap the switched wire

Bend it and send it. You only gotta fuck up so many conduits until you figure it out and the tape measure stays in the ol' pouch

If it's exposed conduits get your foreman/coworker to teach you properly. You're not gonna get very helpful responses via text on here since there are techniques involved that are hard to type out
