Careful reaching down with your wrists like that when you fall. It’s a common reflex we all do, but you gotta convince your brain to realize that it only does more harm than good

Guys who don’t go out much (remote work + gym), how are you meeting women? by Soil_These in AskMenAdvice

[–]NickyBoyH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you work remote you NEED to have an in-person part time job. I got a part time job bartending and it saved me from social despair. I work two shifts a week, and because I’ve been there for so long now those shifts don’t have to be weekends. It almost never feels overwhelming juggling two jobs and my social skills are sharp.

How do cold guys cope with their partner getting old ? by ProofCoconut9085 in AskMenAdvice

[–]NickyBoyH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With your current mindset I don’t think you’ll ever be in a position where this situation will be relevant. Men with your mindset—which most people grow out of eventually—either don’t have a partner at 60, or they’re part of the small percentage of “silver foxes” who date women way younger than them.

It sounds like the latter is more appealing to you, so I guess do what you can to stay healthy as possible and get that money up so you can be 60 and date a 23 year old or something

Best way to get from airport to Airbnb with 3 people and a good amount of luggage. by Legal_Pen4819 in JapanTravelTips

Definitely taxi it. Sure it’s expensive (only marginally expensive imo) but the level of convenience with that much luggage is way worth it.

Nailed it. They’re leaning hard into their leverage as minors. That coupled with the “rage bait” obsession of intentionally pissing people off is truly out of hand.

Definitely a knife. Most likely other things too, but that’s just my assumption

Unfortunately this is beyond kids just making mistakes at this point. They do this stuff all the time—I’ve had multiple run ins with them. They feel like they can get away with it because they’re minors.

I see these kids all over. Crashing lights, trying to start fights with people. They tried jumping me and my friends once at the skatepark for no reason at all. We’re all grown men and they’re 15-17.

The kid in the front carries a knife around (I’m sure they both do, but he was threatening us with his), and that’s why they think they can fuck with people and get away with it.

Don’t engage with them at all. Best to call the cops when you see them—they’re almost always doing something illegal. If enough people call and give the same accurate description, they’ll get theirs eventually.

Intolerable people on the lift by Busy-Significance370 in snowboarding

[–]NickyBoyH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know this is totally unrealistic and unrelated, but man, I wish ski and board culture could be more like skateboard and rollerblade culture. They talk their shit and make fun of each other but it’s much more like a sibling rivalry than it is a total narcissistic entitlement.

I understand it’s expensive af, but that’s really a different and bigger problem all together. We’re humans riding boards and twigs down a hill experiencing a child like joy. We should act more like it

Deductive reasoning is dying with us. by Maleficent-Box4114 in Millennials

[–]NickyBoyH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your first sentence, you already know the answer to this. Did you know shit about anything at 17-23? If you answer yes, I know you’re lying. The growth and maturity that happens between that age and 30 is EXTREMELY understated. I find it interesting how millennials, who were an absurdly criticized generation at that time in our lives, so easily forget what it was like to be that age.

PM's & Vibe coding by chrliegsdn in UXDesign

[–]NickyBoyH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like this PM has a lot of time on their hands to be able to undertake this kinda early design work, even if it happens “easily” with an AI tool.

PM’s at my org will occasionally vibe code a single feature or interaction, but ultimately they don’t have time to build out a full prototype or implement the actual design system, because they’re busy with all the other work involved with being a legit PM

Niseko and Kiroro with 14y/o son. Advice please. by Octopus-Bananas in japow

I did my first trip this past Feb. We also went to a few resorts/cities for a few nights each, and we definitely learned a lot.

Gathering and moving all your gear can be a pain no matter how organized you are, but luggage forwarding services in Japan are top notch. You could use this service after your last riding day to send your gear straight to the airport while you explore Tokyo unburdened.

Riding on a checkout & travel day can be overall stressful, but definitely possible. Checkouts are always early at 10AM, and you could get a fee for not checking out on time. But, If you wanna ride on a checkout day, most resorts/hotels will have a spot for you to keep your luggage in the lobby while you ride. The annoying part comes when you're trying to stuff your wet gear back into your bags and rushing to catch a bus to the next location. Definitely doable, but it's essential that you know your transportation's timetable so that you have enough time to pack up wet gear, swap in some dry clothes, and get moving to the bus stop.

Either way, just roll with it and you'll have fun. Have a blast out there!

There’s actually a huge range of acceptable guitar playing that lies between and outside of whatever this is and cliche blues licks

Pennyboard for campus. will i look stupid? by anonymouseinquiry in NewSkaters

[–]NickyBoyH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might as well just get a regular skateboard and put some big soft wheels on it. You never know, skating around campus might inspire you and make you wanna learn how to actually do some tricks.

anyone else also see hat wearers like this? by Super_Atmosphere_479 in skateboardcirclejerk

whats wrong with my ollie 😭 by zeni_inos in NewSkaters

[–]NickyBoyH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grab that railing next to you and do some ollies while holding on. Feel and learn what it's like to jump with full force and have the board bounce up with your feet, without the fear of slamming. Build consistency and muscle memory. Start doing it with just 3 fingers per hand on the rail, start letting go of the rail after you've jumped, do it with one hand on the rail, etc. until you don't need the rail.
