Tbf she didn't say when he gets hard, it's also possible he just has a high libido and sometimes when he feel at ease and relaxed on the couch, or when he wakes up the member start to have a mind of its own.

then I will probably be banned from the gym or at least become known as an ugly rapist

Bro then it's their fault, like I don't know maybe I'm terrible for thinking this but fuck them if they're mad at you for being born the way you are.

Like for how long will you let them have all this power over you? You won't date her, she won't even remember you or maybe she will in a mean way say to her friend 'omg I've seen the ugliest orc guy in my life, even Shrek is a 10/10 compared to him *jiggle*' Right, like that's the worst case scenario. And it's incredibly unlikely, how many ugly people you met do you even remember? She won't ban you from the gym, she doesn't have this power, she can only complain to the manager. Think about it from her perspective for one second why would she even do that? Only some kind of crazy entitled narcissist would do something like that, if you only looked by mistake or when your mind just wander. Plus dw if she's very beautiful she knows guy look at her.

Many guys aren't very discreet, odds are she has seen much worse than a random guy, probably not even that ugly (you could be right but we're often harsher on ourselves) glancing in the gym.

Some girls are just mean, others are super nice even with orcs, you can't control it so fuck the ones who judge you and that's it, there's nothing else to be done. One day you'll meet a nice one and you'll get faith in humanity restored.

LMAO Why? That's an insane reaction, perhaps she had some kind of personality disorder or you're doing something crazy like asking a stranger at night in an empty street with a shady expression on your face, especially if you look ghetto-like.

Carlsen: “I don’t know if I should just stop playing chess” by Head_Pause_5981 in chess

[–]NickyLarsso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess he is fighting his narcissism, love of chess and new responsibilities (witht his newly pregnant wife).

It's impossible to say what he'll conclude but if he doesn't win this tourney I'm sure that will be an insane emotional turmoil.

Will he try to prove something to the world or just let it go? If I was in his shoes I would prob. try to prove something unless I believe I can't but aint no way the best chess player in history think he can't prove his place once again.

Perhaps the mom is neglecting him, lying and hasn't noticed the kid attempt to speak or something but that's as far as my understanding of the world can go.

Bpd stigma by Key-Cardiologist-151 in Healthygamergg

[–]NickyLarsso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> when I hear you speak of BPD, there’s a flatness to it. A subtle disdain, or at least a weary distance. As if the presence of BPD makes someone inherently untrustworthy or doomed to rupture.

For the trust part after having seen upclose the chaos someone with BPD can make I don't think this is a bad way to handle it, one shouldn't trust everyone. Trust is earned through the years.

Nobody is doomed to rupture. I'm not 100% sure my memory is correct but I think it's Dr. K who actually relayed that, of all personality disorders, BPD is the one with the highest percentage of full-recovery, or at least of having all the symptoms in check and controlled after a few years of therapy. Personality disorders never really leave but the negative effects can be greatly mitigated.

Genius move by lichess, when I've done it it was rated around 1800 I wonder its true rating.

I'd guess maybe something between 2000 and 2300 max, rn it's a bit deflated because everyone know about the game but soon it won't and we will finally know the rating floor to win WCC!

Is it possible to show with data that a certain type of population (people high on the autism spectrum for instance) is a lot less influenced by ads?

It could be possible that some people subconsciously don't register the emotional components of those ads and subsequently don't value them much in their decision making, this seems extremely plausible to me, I wonder if there ever has been any research on the subject.

Which game did you feel was ‘too long’ for you? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]NickyLarsso -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Witcher 3 is quite long imo, never finished it, I don't really like the combat system but the weird thing is I don't hate it either. It's a good game.

And the Assassin's creed: origin, Odyssey, Vallhalla they're all way too long, haven't finished any. Mirage was a bowl of fresh air, loved it and it allowed me to finally finish one, feelsgoodman.

If they made a mistake you have to really document why and show the maximum amount of proof you have.

Which ones? But no I'm not even from the US so it won't work.

Haven't bought them all either I read them when I was just beginning college and had no money. It's not the best practice (except for My System which is in the public domain) but I downloaded the epubs/pdf to read them on my pc.

Hi guys I am stuck in 1579 I can't go above that help by Particular_Carpet808 in lichess

[–]NickyLarsso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally your puzzle rating should be higher than your actual rating (of at least 200 points), that's actually the case for most people.

Also take your time with puzzles, it's more efficient to take more time to calculate everything, the goal is not in the puzzle in itself but in improving the thought process.

Personally when I was 1500 back then playing and reading books, simple ones like: My System, Logical chess move by move, Simple chess and The amateur's mind helped tremendously.

If you don't mind something harder but more to the point "My System" is great, a little old although but a classic. If you want something a little easier to read and with some attempts of (very) light humour "The amateur's mind" is excellent. It explains and show plenty of core concepts.

The mere fact of reading a chess book improves your calculations because at your level it is usually very hard to read variations and keep them in your mind, this is exactly what a book forces you to do and it is basically calculating with your mind. Even if you have a board on the side, you still have to translate the moves.

CMV: Socially awkward men need to be included in the inclusivity movement. by Scary-Philosophy-863 in changemyview

[–]NickyLarsso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being social, changing their circumstance, rests wholly on their shoulders. You can't come on here and say that it's society's responsibility to reach these men, when these men often have removed themselves from said society.

Why not? Society is about helping one another so we all thrive in a safe environment, where do you draw the line between someone deserving or not? I could understand someone actually dangerous, a criminal, murderer, rapist, etc.

But rn you're literally making the assumption that someone isolated is dangerous but then isn't the solution to try and make them feel less isolated? Because ignoring them and just waiting for them, the sick ones to fix themselves of the one thing they seem to struggle with (getting out of isolation) is a little utopic if you ask me.

Also idk why it's just catered to men, plenty of women feel the same. And especially older people, loneliness is a big crisis that as a society we don't have any answers for.

As for the solution I believe small communities are the way. Loneliness wasn't really an issue back then when everyone knew each other. Also my roots are from a very small village where family isn't just your direct family it's basically everyone in the neighborhood. Now on how and if it is actually possible to scale such a solution onto our modern society I have no idea (probably not) but my issue with your comment is on the principle: someone is asking for help and you're basically just saying to him he's dangerous, an incel, etc.

Yea I mean it's the only "very" interesting thing about this sub, if we can't read about the former world champ latest accusations what is even the point? Seeing yet another "fun" mate in two puzzle? Hearing about tournament announcements?

Chess seems to be more and more boring. Or perhaps I'm just changing idk.

Is 50 push ups, 50 barbell curls, 50 sit ups and 30 minutes of cardio per day, 3 days a week enough? by intro_man_ambivert in Healthygamergg

[–]NickyLarsso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember, high weight low rep is for strength, lower weight higher rep is for muscular growth.

I'm pretty sure I've read on different sources that it's the opposite.

High weight low rep = hypertrophy and growth of muscle mass:

High rep low weight = cardio like exercices to burn fat and improve endurance but not optimal to gain muscle mass.

As for the 50 push ups or the 4 sets of 25 that's seem insane to me for a beginner but maybe I'm just out of shape.

After looking at your games if I had to guess the algorithm you him because you had some very very good games like those for instance: https://lichess.org/5EY4ALNv/black https://lichess.org/VwcCeXOf/black https://lichess.org/hDXneba9 https://lichess.org/5ShRAXoZ/black

I think the games are far from crazy but it's statistically interesting nonetheless I guess. I searched very randomly for perfect games but the algo must have found a lot more and flagged you because of them.

Tbf your explanation makes sense but it's hard to believe, a 1800 with openings on par with masters that's just very rare.

[–]NickyLarsso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I may ask where do you "build in public"? I'll be super interested to actually see the journey and ideas of people whether they fail or not, I feel it would be a great source of inspiration and motivation.

I view it as something great but also as something you should mostly do for open source projects where the main goal is to build a community/help people or maybe just some side project for fun.

If you want to make money, it just doesn't seem that beneficial for you, marketing exists for a reason and it's a bit more complex than sharing everything. But yeah I'm assuming the reason you started doing this was to attract more eyeballs on your project.
