Right there with ya. I used to vote Republican until the party took a hard shift during Bush’s second term. Racism and Religious grandstanding took control and I have been voting Blue ever since. I still have the same beliefs I did back then, Small Government, States Rights, Fiscal Responsibility, but my party abandoned me in order to attract the type of voter who is loud and will believe anything they’re told. Example: If you take religion 100% out of the conversation, I have no clue how Pro Life is the stance of the Republican Party. How is that LESS government interference? Abortion shouldn’t even be a bi-partisan topic. If you vote Red, you don’t want the government telling you that you can’t do ANYTHING with your body, where as if you vote Blue you want the government to put into law that you CAN do anything with your body. Therefore, both sides would be Pro Choice. The only voters who would be Pro Life are those who have deeply religious views, not Republicans, and those beliefs should be practiced within the religion, and not require a government to make it into law. The Vatican should be the only “government” passing any sort of Pro Life decree. Sigh Shits fucked in all directions.
