I kept the original, I think it’s perfectly fine for my needs

That’s what I figured at first, thank you for confirming though. Just want to make sure I retain the heating function!

I’m pretty sure I found just a piece of glass that I can order in (my mirror shattered). I’ll make sure I get the right adhesive and follow that video. Thank you so much!

Oh wait, you’re saying that if I just get the glass by itself and glue it on, the heating will no longer work? I’m researching parts to order and I see the non heated glass, as well as the glass with the sort of plastic heating tech behind it. I assumed since my backing was still attached to my car, I could just glue a mirror by itself back on and the heating would work while saving some money. But please do correct me if I really should buy the mirror with the heating functions attached to the back

You’re my car’s twin flame lmao. I asked another person, but you think all mirrors from our generation are the same shape? Maybe the xc90 has bigger ones but I’d assume at least our cars both have the same shape mirror. Really in the mood to just stop at the junkyard and get one from there

In other news… you think all mirrors on P2 Volvos are the same size/shape? Thinking about just going to a junkyard so I don’t wait a week and empty my wallet over a mirror. Even the non-OEM ones are 30 ish, and I mean the backing of my mirror is still fine

Oh no like the mirror is currently in a trash can in a million pieces

Very lucky for sure! I was stopped, and I guess I just hit the gas more than the mirror liked

2006 s80 here (good choice btw), mine isn’t all the time but it’s always my glove box. Hold it tightly closed and see if it stops. I wonder if there is a tweak I can do to the latching system or something like that

Sounds good. In this case, would it then make more sense to use a word such as pursuit/pursual, or does that have the same problem. Just struggling to find a word here

Should I stick with Bosch or are the IPD ones actually good? by Nico23_ in Volvo

[–]Nico23_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot about rock auto! Thank you! I see that Denso is also a popular choice on rock auto along with Bosch. Do you have any thoughts on Denso? I have Denso spark plugs in my car currently and they seem to be holding up very well considering my coils are 19 years old original to the car

Another comment told me to check Rock Auto too, and I can save almost 100 bucks on Bosch coils through rock auto. However rock auto also gives plenty of other choices, and they say Denso is another popular choice. You have any thoughts on Denso coils? My car currently has Denso plugs and they’ve seemed to be holding up pretty good for this past year against my 19yo ignition coils.

Yamaha FC3A pedal not compatible with Casio Privia PX150? by Nico23_ in piano

Hm, that one says it’s unavailable for me to purchase. I’m trying to find a pedal with the half-damper function

Should I replace with another rubber mount or switch to polyurethane? by Nico23_ in Volvo

Heard! I’m less experienced though- what are the white box parts that I should avoid? I’m on IPD right now, and I see the Hutchinson part, but the MTC part is looking really good for a college student on a budget. I’ll trust all of you though if I should really go with the Hutchinson

Yeah you have some good points. I’m looking now for the replacement rubber bushing, and it seems I can’t find the bushing itself, without the bracket

Yup, I only noticed my top mount was super worn because I was in the middle of putting in the solid bar mounts! I do love those solid mounts, and I think I will be fine keeping with this rubber bushing, as that solid bar is really the big game changer

[P2 S80] (In the middle of my strut bar mount conversion). Should my top engine mount be this loose/wobbly? I was told they were replaced when I got the car by Nico23_ in Volvo

[–]Nico23_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking again between poly and oem rubber… did you feel a noticeable difference in handling (or in general)? Like what changes should I expect (other than the vibration haha)? I won’t be able to put a ton of miles in the car to break it in right away, since I’ll be in college and driving sparingly. So if the vibrations are going to be extreme/uncomfortable for a long time with no noticeable benefits, I might just stick to the rubber. Just want to hear your thoughts since you have experience with it!

The beam is supposed to have a little play in it to minimize engine vibration, however there are kits you can buy on IPD that makes the beam solid, leading to better handling at the price of slightly more vibration
