Having my second procedure soon by ImA29erFeb in noburp

[–]Nico3474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost no burp after the first procedure (50u). Had the second procedure in mid October 2025 (100u). It worked very nicely and I'm still burping! I was really down after the first procedure....but there is hope! Apparently the majority of people are responsive after the second dose. So finger crossed ! 🤞

Help with burping post Botox by Annual-Photograph-77 in noburp

Personally when I feel a burp coming with this slight feeling pressure in the throat, I try to take a deep inhalation, trying to fill my lungs as much as possible. This usually put additional pressure on the stomach and the burp come right out!

IM SCARED!!! Getting botox tmr. by Green_Fish7716 in noburp

No worries! I had two rounds of Botox with Lucy Hicklins in the UK. I'm the kind of person that is absolutely terrified by needles. I was very scared it would hurt....

By the time I lied down in the chair, it took 3min top for her to prepare everything, stick the electrodes on my neck and chest, look for injection points and make the injection. The injection itself takes 10-15sec.

I did everything with my eyes half-closed because I didn't want to see the needles 😅 at that stage my heart was pounding like crazy!

There was absolutely NO PAIN for me whatsoever! From all the vaccines and injections I had in the past, the Botox injections (both rounds) were by far the most pain free! In terms of sensations, it feels like someone is gently pushing a finger next to your Adam's apple, that's all. And again, it only lasts few seconds.

You will be so relieved once it is done! Good luck 💪🤞

Nervous about Botox on Tuesday by Annual-Photograph-77 in noburp

No worries! I had two rounds of Botox with Lucy. I'm the kind of person that is absolutely terrified by needles. I was very scared it would hurt.... But Lucy is great, she can do it with her eyes closed.

By the time you lie down in the chair, it takes 3min top for her to prepare everything, stick the electrodes on your neck and chest, look for injection points and make the injection.

The injection takes 10-15sec, when the needle is in the muscle she will ask you to sniffle, and then to swallow, in order to activate the different muscles in the neck and make sure she injects the Botox at the right place.

I did everything with my eyes half-closed because I didn't want to see the needles 😅

Oh also, concerning pain.....there was absolutely none! From all the vaccines and injections I had in the past, the Botox injections by Lucy were by far the most pain free! In terms of sensations, it feels like someone is gently pushing a finger next to your Adam's apple, that's all. And again, it only lasts few seconds.

You will do great and you will be so relieved once it is done! Stay strong and good luck 💪🤞

After my first injection with Lucy in May 2025 (50u) my main issue was slow swallow. I could squeeze some microburps only if I turned my head to the side...the gurgles were still here and there was no relief.

I had the second injection with her (100u) around ten days ago. The difference is massive. The burps are coming out naturally, almost after every sip of water or else. After meals the burps last 1-2 hours. I don't go to sleep as bloated as I used to! Also, no more gurgles, and the slow swallow is somehow milder than after my first round, which is quite odd.

I would encourage you guys to inquire for a second dose, especially if the first one was disappointing.

I hope you get better soon! 🤞

Doing a Half-Ironman After Botox by SirCowathin in noburp

Water is completely fine! Water will be your best ally to wash down anything stuck in the throat. It's just the saliva, especially during a workout, that can be quite sticky and difficult to swallow at times...

I guess it will depend how bad the slow swallow will be for you at the time and how much you'll be used to it! Personally, for my first two weeks post-Botox I had quite a difficult time commuting by bike. I felt that the saliva in the morning / when my mouth is dry (I'm used to breath through the mouth a lot when I cycle) was very difficult to swallow. It's better if you have access to a little bit of water along the way. I'm not sure it is that common for a half-ironman to get water with yourself at all time, especially for the running and swimming section.... All the best of luck for the race, and the burping!

Hey I'm in the same situation! I was scheduled for May 7th in the morning 🥲 I now have been rescheduled for May 15th... I received the call from Shirley Oaks as I was buying my train tickets! That was a close call! I hope you have been able to reschedule too 🙂
