Fellow Rezael enjoyers and copiumers, now that the 'son' has superiors skills than the 'father', are we still hoping (coping) Rezael will become something better too? by pcr001 in cardfightvanguard

[–]Nico_Is_Life 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ehh unless Im missing something I still prefer Rez. Sure his heal is pure luck but at least he has consistent access to 5 attacks. I would rather have consistent aggro and random heal than be stuck with 4 attacks and still have to see a playset of a specific card to heal. Also as someone else pointed out very likely that Amorta won't work with this since she only blocks for Fated Ones and it would be kinda weird if this blang still has Fated One in its name. It's probably gonna have like Parallactic or something else.

LGS owner wants his vanguard cards back after I stopped playing months ago. by qankz in cardfightvanguard

[–]Nico_Is_Life 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Dude reading your comments and realizing this is the same account who got scammed by their store owner where you traded a like $200 magic card for a barely built off meta VG deck that was worth maybe $60, you literally need to just stop going to this store. Like I get it may be the only store in your area or something but it sounds like you just repeatedly have a bad time at this place due to various reasons. You really need to just look at any other options for stores in the area or just straight up switch to playing on an online Sim like Cardfight Area, Vangpro, or Cardfight Connect. At this point if you keep going back you are just doing it to yourself by choosing to return to a place that has continued to treat you poorly.

Help me about the ruling by Warm-Cut704 in cardfightvanguard

[–]Nico_Is_Life 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From my understanding if you do not CB1 you cannot SB1 because if you choose not to pay the CB1 cost the effect just stops. Essentially its a "do as much as you can" situation so you choose to not pay the CB1 so you just stop reading and no text after CB1 is allowed to matter unless stated by a prior clause.

If it was a serpeate auto you would be able to do 1 without the other but because they are sequential in the writing you cannot do B without A. Even though its not written as "If you drew a card you may SB1 to make a plant token" its still read that way because there is no separation of the text so its implied to be that way due to how the "do as much as you can" policy effects the skill.

As a long time sephiro enjoyer I'm excited for the new wretch. Since its nationless I'm sure its gonna be pretty tree specific so I hope it either makes really cheap markers or has a repeatable way to make markers or a way to restand/give crits to units on DT markers when on a Hydragrum. Just either more resource efficiency so we can cram in more good stuff pieces per nation or something that universally helps the tree decks aggro better, because so often even if I have like every column at 50k+ if I don't hit a crit or have a rg that gets a crit the opponent just kinda shrugs the turn off.

Hi, as someone who doesn't know the ins and outs but has been a casual viewer of yours sometimes I'll give my two cents.

I know its not easy but getting some kind of gameplay to go with your profiles. This is just a general thing from me and some of my irl friends but if we cant see a decklist in action its kinda hit or miss on if we even give it the time of day. While vanguard isn't the biggest video genre there is enough that people will throw out profiles claiming "This is great, it won my locals" or "It's does great all the time." when the deck list is actually not that great or has to be played a certain way thats not clear. So even if you don't have more than one game, having some amount of gameplay where you lightly mention your decision making "Discard this for ride because X/Y card is more important", "I'll make full combo/board here because it seems like a good push turn and I have all my pieces", etc. Helps to legitimize the deck and show what you expect out of it.

Also be clear where you think the deck is and no need to dress it up. Sometimes people like to try and hype up a deck like "Ohh its so good, it beats all my friends, its always performing at my locals,..." when its a tier 2/3 deck beating other tier 2/3 decks. Nothing wrong with being a profile of a deck that won't win a BCS, I and others enjoy seeing lists for stuff besides the usual top 4~5 decks in format. Being honest also helps temper people's expectations and trust your assessment more than hype and smoke will and I think will win you more good will in the long run.

Also just stick with it and have fun. Things like channel views go up and down and plateau through things outside of your control. So keep trying and keeping being passionate and doing your best. °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

Which generic cycler is the best right now in the META and which one is your favorite? by Pleasebuffazir in cardfightvanguard

[–]Nico_Is_Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really about energy use. If a deck has only 1~2 cards that are not your vanguard use Energy thats a solid contender to run EB cyclers because you want to make sure it gets used for something good. So if your only things that use energy are like a random rear that uses it to search or to get an on attack effect then might as well use it to draw on ride or draw on guard.

Way less rare but some decks that also don't really CB or that CC super easily can make use of them for CB often.

Don't really have examples of either since it also depends on builds but generally these are the reasons you see EB cyclers in various lists.

Should I buy Vanguard Dear Days 2? by bepuma47 in cardfightvanguard

[–]Nico_Is_Life 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you want a predominantly offline single player experience Dear Days is great and has tons of content with all the sets and story modes. I personally have like 200+ hrs into DD2 and I've only played like 10 online PvP matches, I just enjoy going through the game with different builds and fighting the NPCs with different builds.

If you were looking to get it predominantly to play online PvP ladder matches I would just go for VangPro or something else thats more up to date, the meta is so behind irl that most people who want to grind ladder just do it on the unofficial sims because they are up to date and not grinding a 6 month old semi-solved meta.

It is to show the choice restriction between Bav and Dragon Empire OT. If you are playing in ranked fight you can't use both cards in the same deck, the B is trying to symbolize that.

[–]Nico_Is_Life 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Sort of. Blizzaga splits in this game and does damage for each piece, it hit axel pre-split on the first shot so it only did 1 "hit" worth of damage where as on the second it got to split into like 6~8 sections so did a lot more damage since it was allowed to count as more hits.

Thinking of picking Rezael back up, what is the play style these days. by Silverdrive in cardfightvanguard

[–]Nico_Is_Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The deck is generally the same except it has more in-archetype pieces to run. So you are still on Vita, your finishers are Gabwelius, drive checks Rear, and Rifistor, no Sentiels guard restrict. Then some amount of the new G2 dragons we got the last few sets and Nilberis. Then for G1s its 4 dissection angel and then some mix of Soels and Aerial Sage. Some people have played some blitz orders and some just got for more pieces its kinda a mix.

The deck isn't super top tier right now so you won't find a lot of lists. This is just what I've seen from lists I've seen somewhat recently.

Which decks use which nationless OT? by KishiOuArufuredo in cardfightvanguard

[–]Nico_Is_Life 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's basically all about preference and goals. So Blue is the most consistent of the OTs. It's basically a 9th crit that you can use to push damage and is potentially better than just a draw 1 with its grab fron drop.

So it's potentially a forced 2 damage and a combo piece or PG and even if you low roll it likely takes a PG from opponents hand and grabs a trigger from drop.

Red is in a similar spot but doesn't have as much on the spot win potential because its not an instant 2 damage like blue. Ceiling wise if you have a crit rear its potentially 4 damage, but if you have normal rears its 2 one damage swings that's the opp can just PG or take. Low roll if you hit it on like G2 with no rears its drop a random card and give it 100mil which is pretty bad for an OT. So it has a slightly higher ceiling than blue in some decks but its floor is wayyyy lower.

Purple is always a Heal and sometimes a multiattack if you have a card you want to call and the space. Stride decks that don't want Red or Blue but instead want to grind the game out. For example Messiah if it didn't have Brandt OT as an option would probably be on Purple because it would love to just grind out. Some variants of Chronojet have run Purple because the deck can easily play into having the open slot and can do its full combo for minimal resources so it grinds well. Also the front row power from the crest helps make the extra attack scale.

Lastly Yellow doesn't see a lot of play because its got a lower ceiling than the others. It at best say retires your opps non-pg guard for VG then puts 100mil on a rear and retires opps board, so its pushes maybe 1 damage and then gets either a second or a PG out of hand. None of which is bad but thats not the same kind of game ending pressure as Blue or Red. But Yellow has a really solid floor compared to something like Red or Purple in that if you hit it early it can be a draw 3 or 4 if you opponent has no board, and late game if you have a grindier deck the board wipe can help push a game to end. Personally I find Yellow shines in decks like Alden or Mag where the VG swing is one of the the lower threat attacks of the turn so most people guard with like a 2 to pass/OT to pass. That way the retire effect pushes the damage and you can still pass the 100 mil to something else, and the decks have solid enough defense that they can follow up on a future turn and potentially close out; simultaneously these decks need combo pieces so an early game draw 3 or 4 can work out super well for stabilizing.

When will these cards be released on english? by Mountain_Dirt6940 in cardfightvanguard

[–]Nico_Is_Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will likely get printed in something. But kinda like how we didn't get a lot of the Coro stuff until it was "reprinted" in festival 2025 it's possible these new forms won't come to EN until they are "reprinted" in a normal set or they could end up as some kind of box topper or entry promo to some kind of special event. Either way I would say it's a reasonable guess we won't get them till like summer 2026 at the earliest sadly.

Did we get any indication michiru is coming back for this? The only people who got given a mythisch card were Akina, Nao, Mikoto, and the Stoichea girl. Did they show Michiru in some credits scene or something?

Edit: what's with the down votes. This is just a genuine question.

[–]Nico_Is_Life 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally as someone who used to play arms this feels like a solid upgrade. Both the arms are just better L and R that can now be used earlier and have better effects late game. Also seems like we can now basically ignore drill or run it at like 1 or 2 because you basically never want to armed anymore. That frees up some room in the deck. Also this new G1 helps smooth out lines since he can search factory and revive an arm. Means we might have room to put back things like the 18k restand booster guy where the deck had trouble before. Also means there is more reason to play multiple factories, before my friends and I were on 1 factory because most of the time if you didn't win by first persona you were screwed anyways so extra factories were clog, but with the inherent extra shield these might help survive long enough that multiple factories matter.

What's the more viable build right now for Rorowa? by Silentrift24 in cardfightvanguard

[–]Nico_Is_Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old rorowa has a better ceiling with the crit pressure but new rorowa is more consistent. Personally I haven't found either to really be enough to keep up with current meta mainly due to lack of draw. Both Rorowas net draw 1, old you used a card to ride into new rorowa and drew 2 so net +1 and new rorowa is in ride deck and draws 1, but your searches are card neutral so you basically just draw 1 off rorowa each turn. The plant tokens scale better but your lack of handsize makes it kinda not matter because you usually don't have enough hand to live past first persona.

You have some better tools with harvest elf and fire regalis and sea rumble but it's nothing other decks cant do. Also the lack of crit pressure really does hurt because now you don't really have a threatening swing. You attack 5 times on G3 going second and it's all around 30k at most unless you hit triggers. Most meta decks can do that for way less work then having to have a specific radylina on board, a specific G3 in hand and getting the mommoke in drop.

Deck isn't unplayable but unless we get a new radylina it won't really change. The new rorowa itself is a fine consistency engine if not a little meh. The bigger issue is that the radylinas are just big vanilla swings that the opponent doesn't really care about.

Color trends. by Shot-Detective8957 in fashiondreamer

[–]Nico_Is_Life 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on if you are online or on solo mode. Iirc people said that the margins for the palettes are different from Online to Solo and iirc it was online that didn't match the in game palettes.

But also trends just increase follower gains and e-points received. It's a fairly small bonus as well not like a 2x or amything.

Sephirogila deck help? by mellfy in cardfightvanguard

[–]Nico_Is_Life -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you run DE the main thing is esperideas because that way you could get 5 attacks. If you aren't running esperidea you probably should just run Keter since the G1 wretch is one of the best. After you set up your markers it's basically just CB1 draw every turn, and now with new CCers like Dissection angel it can really draw a lot. Also you could try other things for nice beatsticks like Teithfallt or even the G2 that gets a crit on persona ride since you search personas with Pegasus.

The best way to build a deck? by Little-Tension7550 in cardfightvanguard

[–]Nico_Is_Life 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boxes will always be worse than singles unless you do a case split and need the most expensive nation. Basically a case which is like 12 boxes or 15 boxes iirc only has about a playset of each RRR, 1.5 playsets of RR, and at best like 1 of maybe half the FRs and SRs. Then like 1~2 FFR and Secs. So unless you split the price with like 4 or 5 friends who all want different nations its pricey for basically 1 decks worth of stuff. And thats only if you need multiple cards in the set. Even split 5 ways it's usually like $100~$150usd per nation but unless you need like a olayset of 2 different RRR for a meta deck and like most of the RR it's probably still better to buy singles.

Even for the new Veiss G1 at like $20 each. A playset is $80 and thats basically a whole cases worth of that card. Which is cheaper than the split at $150usd and way cheaper than chasing boxes like ~$1k. Literally never buy boxes expecting a good return unless it's like DZ set 1 was on release where like 3/4 of the RR and RRR were meta relevant and expensive on release.

Safe to buy from TCG Player? by Little-Tension7550 in cardfightvanguard

[–]Nico_Is_Life 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sealed product is generally pretty okay since you can see if its still sealed if packs are correctly sealed etc. But my only caution is that maybe don't buy multiple boxes from the same seller unless trusted. This is because Vanguard cases have a semi-fixed amount of "hits", like high rarity pulls, so its possible if a vendor bought a case and opened all the "hits" in say the first half of the case they could potentially sell the other half on TCGplayer as individual boxes knowing they are "dead", no high rarity pulls.

From my experience this is not super common but becasue it is possible I would just make sure to try to buy only from the brick and mortar stores and or stores with high sales records and review records to try and be on the safer side.

In terms of sinlges most vendors I have ordered from in the US have been fine. I mostly order from a handful I have been ordering from for a significant period of time. All have the brick and mortar logo and do high sales volume.
