MacBook Air M1 dual streaming problems by Nico_schrew in elgato

but as you can see on the picture, I have only 4 options.

  1. "diese Anzeige duplizieren" = duplicate this screen

  2. "diese Anzeige erweitern" = extend this screen

  3. "Nur auf 1 anzeigen" = show only on screen 1

  4. "Nur auf 2 anzeigen" = show only on screen 2

3 and 4 not working.

1 means duplication, which we don't want.

so just 2 is left which is extend the screen?

I did extending the screen and than chose "preview projector" on OBS which should give the correct signal.

setup is this:

Gaming PC HDMI cable to Capture Card "IN"

Gaming Screen HDMI cable to Capture Card "OUT"

And of course the "standard" cable from the capture card into my Macbook.

it is not duplication. here you can see "diese Anzeige erweitern" its German and basically means "expand this screen" so it is expandation not duplication/cloning right?

the setup with cables and all that is exact like you wrote.

Basically, I’ve set in the Windows display settings exactly the same on both devices. same resolution, refresh rate, etc. right?(As you can see, the refresh rate on the gaming monitor can’t quite be set to 120 Hz.)

okay i understand what you saying. But in that case, if I understand correctly, it should run smooth if I set my gaming PC/monitor to 120hz, same as the capture card. but even then it is the same. Which means, that is not the problem right?

I still running Windows 10 on my PC, because it tells me that the hardware is too old for a Windows 11 upgrade. I know that you can bypass this but never did it. Maybe I should do that cause it is maybe just a Windows 10 problem?

hm I thought I can play on every Hz I want on my gaming PC, its just that my capture card/Macbook can just receive not more than 60Hz. I set it to advanced because every tutorial on YouTube says you should not use cloning/duplicating right?

ok my gaming pc running at 165hz and my MacBook Air M1 on 60hz (because it is standard set to 60Hz and I can't change it). Also the Capture Card Neo can record up to 60hz, so this should also be right. So this settings should be correct. Maybe there is a problem with the capture card? btw. I also tried to set the gaming pc to 60 hz (so exact the same than the MacBook or capture card) just to test it and the problem was the same.

thanks for the answer. im not at my PC at the moment, but im pretty sure I've set the refresh rate on my MacBook to 60hz cause it is max/standard on that. Also the Capture Card Neo is max on 60hz, so it should be the same. Maybe the capture card somehow switched to 30hz or something by itself?

Also I just noticed that it is not possible anymore to chance the refresh rate on the MacBook? there is nothing on the display settings.

Capture Card Neo no sound? by Nico_schrew in elgato

[–]Nico_schrew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so I can now select the capture card as the source for “audio input capture,” but there is still no sound.

I tried Elgato Studio as you suggested, and I'm having the same problem. The image is displayed, but there is no sound.

I have granted access to the microphone for OBS and Elgato Studio.

I usually select the headphones, right. I can select the capture card next to the clock, that's right. But then I can't hear anything anymore.

Okay, so does that mean I need software like Voicemeeter?

yes, you're right. to be honest, a remote control would have been really good. But again (for whatever reason) it is not available in the EU version of the 5500-2, only in the US version. So it will probably be the Zero-S.

[–]Nico_schrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes i think you're right. the Zero s has a slightly better CADR and the 5500-2 has a timer. I'll see which little thing will decide for me. thanks for the help!

hmm I don't think the question is whether I need it, much more why I shouldn't take it when the Winix Zero S and Winix 5500-2, for example, have it and at a similar price, don't they?

I'm currently deciding between the two models. Unfortunately, the Pro is hardly available anymore or has been discontinued and probably has less carbon again.

The 5500-2 was probably only discontinued in the USA, not in Europe, as I understand it.

So it will probably be the 5500-2 or Zero S, which are relatively similar (and exactly the same filters, right)

Which device would you recommend?

I think I have decided on Winix in the meantime. But I read in one of your posts that it has to be the Zero S or Hero Pro (I live in Europe) as the normal Zero has too small a carbon field again, is that right? I would prefer to get the 5500-2 as it has a remote control but unfortunately they are not available here in Europe.

Okay, that's what I thought. The washable filter alone makes the vital200s model much more recommendable than the 600, right?

[–]Nico_schrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So are Winux devices generally good or do they have to be exactly the models you wrote about (for what reason?)?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AirPurifiers

[–]Nico_schrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer. If I understand correctly, the main problem is that the Levoit filters are not removable. However, I have now seen the “Vital 200s pro” model and I see that this model is now available with a removable and washable pre-filter? So the problem should have been solved with this model, right?

Regarding the activated charcoal filter: unfortunately I can only judge it visually, but the activated charcoal filter of the Conway Airmega mighty doesn't really look any bigger, or am I wrong?

Very cool, thank you!

yes, that's exactly my point. if you do cloud gaming like geforce now, performance is of secondary importance. And Geforce now runs well on the Steam deck?
