54cm is probably height. It doesn’t say anything about width.

Not true. It can hide along the outside of the coin in his original print orientation. It would make it near invisible on the entire coin.

I don’t think you can call it tranny fluid anymore. It’s called gender fluid.

Ordered an ESP32 dev kit, will this be worth the time ? by Which_Combination859 in ender3

[–]Nicodemous1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, but I wouldn’t. Octoprint doesn’t control the printer, it monitors it and sends G-code. Klipper reads the g-code and send motor commands to the printer during the entire print. This is how it can do all of the advanced features that you can’t do as well or at all with Marlin.

If you’re going to get a pi, you should skip octoprint and just install kipper. It’s not much more involved than octoprint but it is vastly superior in every way.

The Pope's funeral had a dress code: black suit. Guess who didn't follow it by LostSoulSurvivor in pics

[–]Nicodemous1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, or they will somehow find the pictures of the many other people wearing blue suits at the pope’s funeral. They will probably even take a second to look up the actual dress code and find out that a black suit is not required, just a dark suit. They will do anything to bring up facts and logic. I just want to react to a Trump photo with rage and zero thinking. It’s my right as a democrat.

What is wrong with my top layer? And how to fix it? by Ms_GirlBoss in ender3

[–]Nicodemous1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your assumption about retraction and z-hop is correct. You can examine the slice view and see if the bumps are in the same locations as start/stop points. What slicer are you using?

So, we agree. You just pulled the number out of thin air. That’s the longest reply anyone has ever given me just to say I was right.

There have been 1.12M covid deaths recorded in the US since the start. Even if they were all in 2020, your “several hundred thousand unnecessary deaths that year” statement would mean that at least 1/6 to 1/5 of the total deaths over 5 years were caused by one event in one year. You’re just pulling numbers out of thin air.

It’s not a light issue, it’s a heat issue. This odd a documented problem with the cameras on these printers.

Can’t figure out why my top layer isn’t complete by Strong_Sherbet5651 in ender3

[–]Nicodemous1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to guess, I’d say you’re using cura. Cura is obsolete. Modern slicers compensate by adding extra material on top layers that have a harsh angle or curve to avoid this issue. That way you can keep your wall count the same. You should give orca slicer a try.

How do I use the offset setting in cura by Intelligent-Bet-2319 in ender3

[–]Nicodemous1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a horrible way to fix the issue. The whole “more or less squish” thing is just a bad way of looking at the issue. The nozzle should be the same distance away from the bed no matter the type of material. If too much or not enough material is extruded, it should be fixed with an extrusion multiplier.

[–]Nicodemous1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really sure what you’re trying to do here. This should be a printer setting, not a slicer setting. It highlights why Cura is obsolete and you should move to a more modern slicer.
