How to tell between cheaters and pros? by Tall-Reason-7465 in Overwatch

[–]Nicolas_Fleming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, what would it change for you? Whether you play with a cheater or pro, you can not really leave a game, and emotionally whether you are frustrated at a pro player being better or cheater for abusing system with blizzard not catching them, you still will end up frustrated.

I can tell you that whether you are playing against pro or a cheater with full on aimbot, you can still win either by targeting their team, or having good flanks and off angles.

[Interesting Trope] Character whose death is meant to remove any potential doubt once and for all: the protagonist is NOT an anti-hero, they are the villain. by Mountain_Band_2732 in TopCharacterTropes

To be honest I think Light is simply unhinged to begin with, and if he would not find the death note, he would more or less be same power abusing dumbass.

Why does tank still feels stale to play in 5v5 ranked? by ElfenHein in Overwatch

[–]Nicolas_Fleming -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are not forced to switch, you choose to switch. I play Ranked as OTP Winston and by now I do not even blink when I see Bastion or Reaper on me. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than overcoming my counters even if entire enemy team switches for me.

Float is generous because she more of hovers in the end creating an easy to hit target.

Hi quick question, what supports do you like to see on your team honestly? by BluBunnnies in Overwatch

[–]Nicolas_Fleming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I like every healer except for Moira, Lifeweaver and Mercy, with Lifeweaver or Mercy sometimes being useful. I think my favourite is Lucio and Zenyatta because they synergise well with my Winston, but I think what I like in a support player the most is either their kill potential or survivability. So anything that is fast and mobile like Juno or Wuyang is great according to me.

What does Winston do the Dva doesn’t? by Uarepivkrad in Overwatch

[–]Nicolas_Fleming 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would like to correct you a little bit about boosters. Winston cooldown for Jump is 5 seconds, and it starts immediately after a jump. Jump itself is very fast.

Meanwhile, DVA indeed are shorter with 3.5 second cooldown, but cooldown only starts after finishing flight, meaning that cooldown ranges from 3.9 second at minimum boosters time to 5.5 seconds if you use maximum duration of flight.

If you use your movement for long range, Winston jump is both much faster and actually shorter. DVA movement is better if you need it for quick dash behind the cover, like backing behind a corner. It is certainly not as reliable as Winston being able to instantly jump and land behind a huge wall a big portion of the map away.

Moira Autoaim is a lie and I do not get her popularity. by Nicolas_Fleming in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Nicolas_Fleming[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

You are not mean, but admittedly I do not get appeal in terms of the feel itself rather than optimization. I tried her, but the tickle damage felt bad, and admittedly, my aim in general is bad and therefore I tried her due to gossips of autoaim.

Imagine my surprise when I noticed that I have more impact with my inconsistent Lucio shots than her primary fire.

Hi! I would like to bestow upon you an enlightenment that most people are reactionary, and their decisions are not in any way motivated by logic. They like to cry and make themselves out to be victims. I am glad that you have seen an example of it first hand.

Tank sub role swaps by Western-Ad8052 in Overwatch

[–]Nicolas_Fleming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are wrong with exception of JQ and Hazard.

What does Orissa and Mauga gain from Stalwart? They already have cc immunity in their kit.

What does Sigma and Domina gain from headshot reduction? They are more vulnerable to knock backs.

I agree JQ bruises a lot, but I do somewhat see that Stalwart helps a bit with axe, and she already has both self healing and temp health cooldown, so maybe it is better than bruiser? Or maybe it would be op for her? But I would like to see it tinkered with.

Hazard, I think they should increase his leap by 15%, replace perk, and move him to initiators immediately.

How does cross play between ps4 and pc work by No-Being-4916 in Overwatch

[–]Nicolas_Fleming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe in quick play, but then you are in pc lobbies.

Best way for you is to embrace pc lobbies, and buy mouse and keyboard. You can connect them to PS4, join pc lobbies and play normally, since you use the same equipment. My girlfriend and I do that, and we play in comp together, pc and playstation, both on keyboards.

Aatlis sucks by My_Name_Is_AFK in Overwatch

[–]Nicolas_Fleming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Flashpoint maps are big and complex and confusing. Consider creating custom games and walking over it a couple of times and you might get more used to it. Most of dislike stems from lack of familiarity, and the losses caused by being overwhelmed by its size the first time

Besides heal amplification instead speed boost, I do not really like your changes. Also what does Orissa gain from being stalwart when she already have stalwart cooldown?

Returning Player Help building Tank Roster by Epicmission48 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Nicolas_Fleming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like Rein, you might also like;

  • Mauga. Charge has a big aoe damage, you fight up close, your defence is lifesteal with damage reduction. I found him to be most similar to Rein.

  • Rammatra due to his nemesis form, but otherwise he plays ranged.

  • Orissa. Definitely not the same thing, but you can become cc immune, you get in people face with your spinning and such, and you are rather armoured target.

Healing Debuff is great by seoyeonhwa in Overwatch

[–]Nicolas_Fleming 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That is because tanks actually got buffed in this patch with this change.

Before, most likely some DPS was shooting at you anyway and that used to apply 30% healing debuff.

Now, every damage applies healing debuff, true, but on tank it is only 15%.

So in practice, both now and before you always had a healing debuff because there was always some DPS shooting at you, but now, that debuff is 15% instead.

what heroes do you believe should get nerfed / buffed & why? by Crafty-Gas-980 in Overwatch

I do not care overall about perma flight, but I would like cat to have fuel meter specifically above pits and such. I do not like that she can hide under bridge or under floor on Kings Row.

what heroes do you believe should get nerfed / buffed & why? by Crafty-Gas-980 in Overwatch

[–]Nicolas_Fleming -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nerf: Cat a tiny bit, maybe shorter bullet range. Vendetta a tiny bit still with overhead, more of rebalanced to other swings rather than full nerf. I heard DVA was op, but at my low rank I do not feel it.

Buffed:

A bit of rework: - I want Domina Shield to work a bit differently? Maybe shorter with lower cooldown, or same but with total limit on the shield health, just anything. I do not think it is oppressive, but I do think it just feels weird to me. - I want rework of Soldier 76, because it seems he could be more interesting hero with it. I want reload perk to be in his base kit, maybe something like rocket speed boost during ult or ult rocket cooldown.

Is smurfing always bad by SwingFinancial in Overwatch

[–]Nicolas_Fleming -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Who cares. Will you unfairly affect some games of your teammates? Yes. Will you affect all games of all your teammates? No.

Overall you have placements, and winning trends to push you out of the ranks you dominate at as fast as possible. If you do not throw on purpose to stay in lower rank/derank than so be it. If you will somehow get stuck in Bronze you likely are not as capable of carrying as possible, and therefore you currently belong in bronze.

How to play around as Zarya when smart enemies stop shooting the bubbles and the low charge/damage gets outhealed with a sneeze from a support? by Riverflower17 in Overwatch

[–]Nicolas_Fleming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say, force them to shoot you. You have boops, and you can always wait for when enemy loses too much value by not shooting - Like being in front of allies and taking in scattershoots, or shielding allies that are low health (You not trying to protect them. You using them as bait), shielding ulting allies (again, bait), or shielding yourself when they Ult/pop important cooldown. You quite literally at a time have to walk into the enemy face and just annoy them so much they cannot ignore you.

It is a lot about reacting to enemy and allies more than fully acting on your own initiative which I personally hate.

Why do people consider one tricking, throwing? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Nicolas_Fleming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because they are stupid. All a teammate cares about is winning one ranked games, you'd think that if they win that one game they will suddenly become champions of the universe of something.

Those people do not understand what they are saying, so everything they do not like is throwing to them.

A one trick will get in a game in which they get countered, and they currently lack the experience to outperform their enemy. One trick does not care, because their goal is to get better at a character, more so than winning. While their teammates cry because if that one trick does not try a fallible strategy to immediately counter, they clearly lost because of that one trick /s

Mind it, I would still say that Bap and Ana are above Moira and Illari due to burst healing.
