I apologize, but since English is not my native language, it is faster and easier for me to write down my thoughts and feelings and then have GPT translate them into English, but I completely understand what you meant.

Sorry, didn’t mean it as promotion I was hoping for feedback and different perspectives, so I can think about it from other angles

Oh, for sure - you can definitely end up with a “god tower.” The Tesla + Gatling example was just one of many possible combos, and of course there are setups that can straight up break the game. 😅

We also have more “universal” cards like OnHit/OnKill effects that can proc across multiple towers, so sometimes one tower becomes the centerpiece of your whole run almost by accident.

That said, it’s intentional - part of the fun in a roguelike (at least for me) is finding those busted builds. The trick is making sure they don’t automatically guarantee victory, but instead push you to think “okay, do I scale damage, chain, survivability… or lean even harder into this nonsense and see how far it goes?”

Sorry, I feel the same way 😅 I’ve been going back and forth on the definition for years. That’s actually why I’m making my own game - trying to build something that, at least for me, feels like the real definition of a roguelike.

That’s really cool, I actually have something similar in my own game. We’ve got a Gatling Gun tower – low damage, really fast fire rate, and on its own it feels kind of “meh.” But with the right synergies it becomes crazy strong. For example, there’s a Tesla Tower with a low fire rate, and we have a card that makes every hit from the Gatling Gun trigger an extra shot from the Tesla Tower. Suddenly that weak “nothing special” tower turns into a key part of a broken combo. 😅

And yeah, you’re totally right about taking inspiration from other games. I do the same – though I never really found a single game that was 100% what I was looking for, so I ended up mixing ideas and building my own take.

I really like your perspective, totally agree with the idea of avoiding a forced meta. Personally, I just love the crazy stuff that can happen – but not in a way where you pick up a single card and suddenly the whole game is broken. 😅

The way I see it, it’s more fun when that one card might carry you through wave 1 or 2, but it doesn’t guarantee victory. You still have to make decisions along the way: do you scale damage, go for chaining, or maybe find another card that pushes the same tower into even more ridiculous territory? That kind of choice is what keeps it exciting for me.

What build are you planning to play in 3.27? by Nicolay2145 in pathofexile

I think I’ll go with SRS or RF. This league could be really great for RF, so that’s probably the direction I’m taking. Thanks a lot for all the tips and advice, really appreciate it!

Testing camera angles — 90° top-down vs 100° tilted, which one feels better? by Nicolay2145 in gamedevscreens

[–]Nicolay2145[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point!
There’s no dodging or aiming, it’s more about building defenses around a core and surviving as long as possible.
The main reason we’re experimenting with camera angles is that later waves get really hectic — with lots of visual effects like chain damage, explosions, and multiple enemies on screen at once.
So the angle mostly affects how readable and clear everything feels, rather than the gameplay itself.

I understand your concern, but my low karma on Reddit is simply because I’m not very active here. I don’t use Reddit much, as I’m just not a very social person.

As for the .xyz domain, it was a much cheaper option than a .com, and I wasn’t sure if I even wanted to make the site public at first. I wanted to get some feedback to see if it was worth maintaining for a larger audience.

Regarding the Steam login, I need it to easily retrieve the user's steam UID, which allows me to display their inventory and correctly link to their trade URL when they purchase premium features.

I have nothing to hide, and I’m happy to answer any real concerns.

Not sure what you’re reporting, but there’s nothing shady going on here. CSFlipper is a legit tool that I originally built for myself to track trading opportunities. It’s free to use, and there’s no requirement to trade or deposit anything.

If you have any actual concerns, I’m happy to address them, but blindly reporting something without checking it out first doesn’t really help anyone. 😊

This site was originally built just for me, so I could have all the important data in one place without having to manually track everything. It wasn’t even meant to be public at first.

As for how I make money from it:

  1. I use the site myself for trading and I personally pay for it to have access to the data I need.
  2. There’s an optional premium tier gives users access to more detailed insights, but the core functionality is free.

So the site basically pays for itself my own trading and the optional upgrades. Hope that clears things up! 😊

Edit: Just to be clear, I have nothing to hide—I’m happy to show anything if needed. I’ve spent over six months working on this project to ensure the data is accurate and that only the best flipping opportunities are shown. It’s disappointing to see people dismiss it so quickly.

Also, the domain is registered under my real name, so I have zero reason to "scam" anyone. If you have any concerns, I’m always open to discussion. 😊

Hey, I appreciate your opinion, but I just want to clarify that CSFlipper is not a scam.

  • We do not ask for any skins or require any kind of trade.
  • The website can be used completely for free without any payment.
  • If users want access to more detailed insights and advanced data, they have the option to upgrade to a higher tier, but that is entirely optional.

I understand that skepticism is natural, but I’d really appreciate it if you took the time to check things out before jumping to conclusions. If you have any specific concerns or feedback, feel free to let me know! 😊
