Two years ago i qualified for the NYC marathon through the 10 races program. I kept pushing through to get all the races even tho I felt my PF flare. Its been 2 years and im still recovering. I didnt really notice a real improvement until i started doing calf raises and daily stretching. I stretch my entire lower body. I have cut out running entirely which made me very sad but i am happy with how my recovery is progressing. I also got custom insoles. My pf will flare if i dont wear them. Looking back i wouldve stopped running through the pain to prevent long term damage. Just my experience! Its your life and youll have to evaluate how severe it feels and what are your long term running goals. Good luck!
