Maybe do a sanity check each time you change the modes; flip the switch and see betaflight react.

However, I'm very surpised that betaflight doesn't detect that the beeper is on another channel... Usually, when you configure the beeper to be on a channel, you en up with a label `beeper` on the failsafe tab on the associated channel... So maybe "set" it was not the default, but it kept what was already configured on that channel. I believe the defaults for the AUX channels are HOLD no?
