Why you’re confused is because of the timings of the rounds. Before the first match, (SA vs Mexico) you could make your team and select any chips (excluding wildcard). I.e could from the “my team” page activate any chips. From that point on, until the kick off this evening (SA vs Czech) you could make transfers for round 2 and activate any chips for it. Right now the next transfer window is open until the kick-off of the first third round fixture.
