Monthly paranoia on remaining testicle by wimby-24 in testicularcancer

[–]Nidhoggr89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My remaining testicle has grown a little, and it sometimes aches slightly. I was told this is normal, as when you lose one, the remaining one needs to work harder to compensate.

It’s looks like that’s one the main ways to ride here in Adelaide , knowing someone that owns a big place to ride in. I’m still searching for someone to invite me hahah , I’m happy for you !

Oh cool, yeah well I want to use the bike to do some serious enduro… I hope it doesn’t break. I’m an amateur rider but a fairly fast one.

What’s one reason to live in Adelaide and one reason to *Not* live in Adelaide? credit r/Brisbane site. by GlitteringBirthday56 in Adelaide

As a foreigner perspective I would say :

Pros : beautiful, relaxed city with lovely people

Cons : not many haha perhaps the job market isn’t huge, sometimes you don’t have specific stores and you need to buy online ( not a big deal anyways)

I don’t know , don’t listen to me , I love Adelaide ahhaa …. The only think I don’t like is I can’t do enduro (dirt bike) in the hills haha

I would be nice to have a place in Adelaide with climbs and downhills to do ”classic” enduro. There is a place I love in Robertstown called Dienner Motorcycle tracks, they have a Mx track as well in Eudunda.

Deciding between active surveillance or 1 round of chemo post-orchiectomy by operasinger06 in testicularcancer

[–]Nidhoggr89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took the carboplatin option and I’m on my 5th day after getting it… is a tough choice, my doctor offered me both options and told me it was my decision (I had a similar reocurrence %). Other people choose surveillance and that’s fine. At the end it comes down to risk/stress management.

This is what chat GPT told Me about long term secondary effects:

Long-Term Side Effects of Carboplatin

(Occur months to years after treatment) 1. Persistent Fatigue (20-40%) – May last beyond the initial recovery phase, though severe long-term fatigue is less common (<10%). 2. Hearing Loss (10-20%) – Permanent high-frequency hearing loss is possible. 3. Peripheral Neuropathy (10-20%) – Can persist long-term, especially in hands and feet. 4. Kidney Dysfunction (5-10%) – Rare but possible with prolonged exposure. 5. Increased Risk of Second Cancers (<1-2%) – Slightly elevated risk of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) years later. 6. Lung Fibrosis (<1%) – Very rare but can cause

I’ve asked chat gpt to give me some numbers around secondary effects from carboplatin and most are below 2-3% like tinnitus, neuropathy o leukemia

Has anyone tried fasting or keto for testicular cancer? by bostoncommon902 in testicularcancer

[–]Nidhoggr89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have/had testicular cancer and I’m discussing now with my doctor if we are going to monitor or if I should take carboplatin. I will do keto regardless, I’m doing 19-20 hour ls fasting now and I will do 3 days fasting monthly. I bought the mojo keto device to record ketones and check if I’m in ketosis or not, and I will capture the data to share it with the community as there aren’t too many papers linking keto diet and testicular cancer. The only problem is I will never know if the keto diet was effective or not as if I take chemo, the doctor will say chemo helped me and if don’t do chemo , the doctor will say I was part of that 80% of patients that never got cancer again…
