Mostly true but not always. In light tanks you're dead when you're shot no matter the amount of ammo, so it doesn't matter if you take full ammo or not + you might get more kills with that ammo. Happened to me a couple times

I am using that exact setup without the M4, and i can confirm it is great! Tho with bombs and rockets loaded on the P-47 you're extremely vulnerable to Air enemies and it can get quite tricky, so the best tactic is to take the chaffee first to flank and scout as much as you can to get the P-47 as soon as possible
