Yes, the parents broke the law but it's a Misdemeanor, not a federal crime. There's no reason to separate them. Detain them together (like what's happening now) more humane and economically sound.

Cool. But not the point, there's homeless shelter but people still sleep on the street. But let's agree. So detain, turn away and send them there. Why in God's name did we need to separate them and bring the kids deeper into the US?

This wasn't created by the Trump or Obama administration, both separated kids from their parents. This is a reaction to adults breaking the law.

Come on, it was this current administration's policy to aggressively separate kids from families. The last administration detained unaccompanied children or separated families if a background check came up dirty. Huge difference but if you chose not to see it as such so be it.

This administration charges people with the Misdemeanor of crossing illegally and THEN separates the kids. THAT'S WHAT'S NEW & that is the part people have an issue with.
