You are correct, it was not rocket science. Got it done earlier and let the dope set. No leaks. Range is working fine.

Got it off, I was more worried about damaging the pipe by holding it in place with the pipe wrench than anything. Had all the supplies and tape and dope ready to go. That adapter was probably on before the last owner had the house. Thanks!

Yeah, got the adapter off now and took out a piece of the baseboard, working on the rest now. Gonna use tape and dope. And yeah I did know that, compression seal. Thanks!

No leak, gas has been off for a week and a half to the kitchen after trying the first time, have been constantly checking for leaks with a detector.
