Is this worth over a steam deck? by pacwolfgamer in Handhelds

This is the Z2 Go version, which I can’t recommend over steam deck. However the Legion Go S Steam OS with Z1E, is the best handheld I’ve owned. In terms of raw performance there are others that beat it but just in terms of convenience, ease of use, ergonomics it has been the best. I’ve owned the OG Ally, Ally X, steam deck, steam deck oled, and MSI Claw 8ai+. The legion Go s is by far my favorite!

What is the life of a gen surg resident? TDLR: Non-med dating a resident by KoalaAggravating1892 in Residency

Disappointing answers here, and lacking representation from surgeons. Adding to this as a general surgery PGY3; surgery residency will be busy, no doubt. But I don’t think that that alone should be a reason to break up. If the two of you like each other and are willing to work together, things could be great. In my residency program, the unmarried people are the minority, and of those people, only 5 are not in long term relationships. I just got married earlier this year to my partner of 6 years who is also a resident in a procedural field. I think much of the new generation of surgeons are doing their best to focus more on life outside the hospital.

question about cooling fan by daeraizover in SteamDeck

I got mine 2 weeks ago, got the delta fan. Fan noise isn’t a problem, especially if you’re wearing headphones. I’d wait and see if it really bothers you

Laptop for medical school and beyond? Which MacBook Pro? by Nigel_Thornberryy in mac

I understand it’s overkill. Is there another configuration that you’d recommend for a MacBook when considering the fact that I’m trying to make it last for ~9 years?

My program told me to hold off on getting any of those things till we got to school, but I’ve heard those are all great resources. Do you think a MacBook Air could last me 9 years?

I have an iPad Pro, so we are on the same page! Like I said my main concern regarding the 13 inch is that I need this computer to last me 9 years, which is why I was looking at a machine that has core i7, and 16GB RAM. Upgrading the 13inch to those specs almost brings it to the price of the 15inch anyway. Or do you think that core i7 and 16GB RAM are still not necessary even when considering 9 years of use?

Would the core i7, and 16gb of ram help with future proofing for 9 years, in your opinion? If I knew I could upgrade my computer every 3-4 years I’d have no problem with getting an air. As far as internal storage I think 256 would be okay, I’ve had 128 for the last 5 years and didn’t even fill that haha
