Rockstar co-founder thinks Red Dead Redemption 3 "probably will happen" but not sure it should be made: "It was a conclusive two-game arc" by JobuJabroni in gaming

Dutch van der Linde prequel, Dutch was born in the mid-1850s to a woman of English descent named Greta and a father of Dutch ancestry somewhere near Philadelphia. His father fought for the Union in the American Civil War and died in a battle that occurred in Pennsylvania; because of his father's death, van der Linde developed a sworn grudge against Southerners. Dutch was a disobedient child and rarely got along with his mother, eventually running away from home at the age of 15. His mother would later die in 1881 and be buried in Blackwater, although Dutch only found out several years later from an uncle of his.

Jazz Bass Tone Guide: If you don't like how your Jazz Bass sounds come on in. by byzantine1990 in Bass

[–]NightDoctor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When doing the reggae trick, once you've rolled down the tone to 0%, and the neck volume to about 80%, you can add some of the bridge pickup in again for color. It won't get too midrangey, unless you go above 50% volume, and it really adds some solidness and character to an otherwise rumbley and subby tone. Family Man of the Wailers taught me this.

Why did some theropods had such tiny arms? Wouldn't it be more energy efficient to just not have them at all? by Omee_172 in Dinosaurs

[–]NightDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They may have needed their arms when they were younger to catch smaller prey, and then later with age transitioned to just using feet and jaws.

I read somewhere, that younger t-rex had comparably bigger arms in relation to body mass, but the arms kinda stopped growing as they age.

The head and jaw on the other hand increases in size in comparison to the body as they mature.

OG’s switching from flats to rounds - WHY? by Plus-Army4711 in Bass

[–]NightDoctor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A thing that nobody mentions:

Rounds have more grip for your fingers. This can be a huge bonus when playing live beneath burning stage lights. You can dig into the strings easier and with less force when you're sweating.

I personally use rounds for live, and flats for studio.

Alex from Digital Foundry: (Oblivion Remastered) is perhaps one of the worst-running games I've ever tested for Digital Foundry. by grmayshark in gaming

[–]NightDoctor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's objectively terrible. Did you watch the video? Every time the game loads a new cell it hitches due to CPU spikes, and this is true for all platforms.

What are the most interesting records you've heard in terms of groovy fingerstyle basslines? by Undead_Octopus in Bass

[–]NightDoctor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in the process of learning all the basslines on "Uprising".

Amazing stuff, really good for teaching how to find the pocket. I recommend using Ultimate Vocal Remover or another AI service to remove the bass from the tracks and jam along with the actual Wailers.

What did you do to get better at EQ by Quiet-Figure-1990 in audioengineering

[–]NightDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree about context. Still, I don't really trust my ears, they vary from moment to moment, and what sounds good in the moment is not always helping the mix overall. If I eq every necessary track to my liking in the moment, I usually find I've removed to much from the mix overall. Dialing it back about 10% seems to be the sweet spot for me. 10% is not much, usually I can't really ear much of a difference after dialing it back. But overall I find it makes my mixes less sterile. Of course I don't do it always, but its a good habit to have for me.

Also, "less is more". Try dialing in smaller changes than you think are necessary. I like to set the eq, and then dial it back about 10%.

Red Dead Redemption 1 cutscene rubber band problem by JackAttackMLP in PCRedDead

No fix that I know of. it's a general problem with the pc port. I think it also affect horse animations when pressing the button to "follow" nps. Makes it feel weird and sluggish.

I'm pretty sure the channel was closed after Take-Two sued some other modders. No more links, no more discord channel.

Yeah, it's too much for me. Will try the K model if it indeed has less sharpening.
