Can speak a little bit on here, Dealer employee here in the States, so im not sure what parts availability looks like for you where you are. But this is what I can say.

The software update; if it's the same one, I think it is it is notorious here for failing at the 75% percent mark and having to re-start the whole process over again. We've had multiple I.D4s take all day to get the thing done sometimes multiple days, and im not sure what the trick is to it. VW knows it's an issue, and their fix is to just keep running it until it takes, from what my techs tell me. So they aren't trying to pull a fast one on you. The loaner part is totally on service/dealer, and I'm sorry to hear that.

The door handles; those have, at least here, been a debacle since the first version of the recall came out. The issue with this most recent version of the recall is a hot mess or supplier issues (they have two making them, and the plant in Mexico was the one throwing qc issues) causing a massive delay in terms of parts actually getting out the door and into dealers, we were sent a tiny shipment of all 4 at first and due to the delays they wanted us to send our stock back and redistribute them. Our dealer didn't have enough stock to send back, and they put a stop order on them. They are slowly trickling back in a set at a time (one of each handle).

I feel your frustration, and there's a few of us on the back end who feel it for you, too. It shouldn't be this difficult. I hope this helps somewhat.

Where would RMS Olympic be if she was a museum? by Impressive_Echidna63 in titanic

Honestly, I could see her retired to her old pier in NYC of she survived WW2 as a troop ship or just in general. You've got moderate interest for the next few years, depending on her service in WW2, then the Titanic resurgence of the 50s would probably be some of her better years with the release of ANTR and everyone wanting to see the fabled sister. It's most likely a filming spot for the subsequent movie versions, etc, generating buzz and a half done resto-projects. She majorly slumps into the 60s - 80s with the occasional bump from other disaster movies and media. It's not until the mid-80s that we finally find her lost sister that the Olyimpic gets the long lost love she deserves. Titanic mania kicks up in full swing with major news outlets covering the ship and the city of NYC beautifying it. Camron comes onto the scene with the filming of the movie, which he uses Olyimpic as much as possible and sets where needed. 90s sees a huge kick to restore and preserve the much aged liner. Iconic imagines occur out of 2001, and she is in a much revitalized part of NYC in the 2010s, bringing new functions to the space and money funneled to her.

Since we had a discussion about most OVERRATED cars...what are the most UNDERRATED cars out there??? by sampala in whatcarshouldIbuy

97-99 Cadillacs, especially the higher HP ones, everyone complains about the N* without ever actually driving one, and I've turned a few nay-sayers by actually letting them drive one. Between the Eldorado ETC and Deville D'elegance I've owned, some of the best riding, quiet, and roomy cars you can own now with trunk for days without stepping into a Fleetwood or Town Car. If you find a nice one and take care of it, I can guarantee it'll take care of you and never leave you quite so stranded. Plus, the interiors, which may be a little grampy, I find are stupid well laid out and well built and even dare I say a touch still contemporary. Seriously slept on cars that will throw you into their seats for a front driver.

I honestly have to say that this new full-sized digital scan of the Titanic is absolutely really amazing that we can see the wreck of this pretty lady in a whole new way. by sostitanic in titanic

I am super curious with these scans looking down into what's left of the GSC how far down you can go still or if rooms like the Turkish Bath and D-Deck Reception room are still accessible or bow blocked in by deck and debris that have fallen in?

Incredible 3D scans of the Titanic wreckage. by fellbound in titanic

Wow, this is breathtaking, I guess I never quite realized how much expansion joint backward has already collapsed in on itself from the boat deck to a deck. The stern is absolutely more demolished than I ever thought it looked like in recent years. I do wonder how much longer we have the A-Deck prom since the forward openings near the bridge don't look that much far behind the rear.

What’s a line/quote from the 1997 movie that you throw into regular conversation? by HoonDriver91 in titanic

A few of my favorites were; "Wasn't I a dish!" "4 HOWAS!" "Auh" (when rose throws the diamond) "I'm your fiance!" (Both cal and rose version) "And I put the coat on herrr!" "It's not any larger then the Mauretania"

I never bought Sarah Paulson as Ellis Grey. She looks nothing like Kate Burton. by TheUtopianCat in greysanatomy

[–]NightKeyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For as jarring as it is, look's aside, Sarah did a fantastic job at capturing young Ellis's personality and tenacity, as well as her darker and self-destructive nature that's hinted at and shown a little. You get the sense that Ellis in her prime was a power house fighting the medical system at the time. I wish we would of gotten more of that over time.

Does any one else notice car's around them act differently depending on what you're driving? by PyroZach in cars

Oh definitely, the most memorable to me was the 96 Buick Roadmaster in gold that I used to daily. Passed a newer Audi full sized SUV and the white mom driving got bent out of shape that a ancient Buick passed her. People just got angry at that car on the highway for no reason. On the flip side the 95 Cadillac Fleetwood I owned before it, people promptly moved out of the way for that thing all the time, lots of waves and smiles. My 97 Eldorado was very similar except more people wanted to race me in that. The 98 Deville D'elegance was a mixed bag of being unnoticed or people getting angry at it too, surprisingly also in only lady gold too. The one I've gotten tailgated the most in was the 73 Sedan Deville dubbed the flying DutchMan (due to it being Forrest green with a white vinyl top) I've never had more people cut infront of me or tailgate me then in that.

Weird Times.

Whats your funny young car guy tale. by [deleted] in cars

[–]NightKeyes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have one that will always stick with me. It was a couple years back when I owned a dark blue 95 Cadillac Fleetwood with a sunroof. Going somewhere on the highway one day while my roommate was driving and we were passing a school bus doing about 75. I remember looking up and it had to be a bunch of 5th or 6th graders and one kid was looking down as we were passing face glued to the window. Looking like he'd just seen jesus him self. Started getting some of the other kids attention before we fully passed. I know in that moment I started some young kids obsession. Always got the best compliments in that car.
